From what I remember Devine had an injury that's why he didn't run at the combine and I've heard him running faster than that at other pro days.  I mean look at Archer his official 40 time was faster than his non electronic 40 time. I look at Archer as being a high 4.2 guy and Devine being a mid 4.3 which it's all irrelevant because Devine isn't even in the league. And maybe a guy averaging more yards per catch is running away from slower players in a weaker conference? Archer is gonna contribute but more than likely it's gonna be in a return and slot role.

He just ran an official electronic timed 4.26.  How can you say you look at him as a high 4.2 guy?  Cause "Twitchy" Casserly can't time a 40 to save his old ass life?  They are not close in top speed.  Please admit that so we can still be friends.  Again, comparing anyone against a Big East (in the last 10 or so years) player and saying the other guy played in a weaker conference is a tough argument to make with me.  That would be the very definition of splitting hairs imo.  Finally, the last line we can leave on an item of semi-agreement.  Dri Archer is not going to be a 1st/2nd down back.  He is not going to be a between the tackle running back.  I don't think he's Chris Johnson II (not that Chris Johnson is even Chris Johnson anymore).  I think he will contribute out of the backfield, but in the receiving game primarily.

So is Dri Archer the official smurf of the year now?  There is one every year and I want to make sure we crown the right undersized guy to be the next KR/PR/RB/WR the board can drool over.  Basically he is now Jeff Demps II.

I can't believe you are comparing the MAC to the Big East. The Big East might not be the SEC, ACC, or Big Ten but it's still capable of getting four star and some five star recruits unlike the MAC. The MAC is lucky to bring in three star recruits and that's usually because of academic problems.

In the time between Miami leaving and it falling completely apart 2 years ago the Big East was almost always a distant 6th and much closer to the Mountain West and CUSA then who ever was the worst of the big 5 in players drafted.  I look more at players coming out of college then coming in as high school football player ratings are dicey at best.  Sure, there were a couple programs who continued to recruit pretty well and put players in the NFL at a respectable clip.  Unfortunately for your argument, WVU far and away lead the pack in that regard.  Which cuts down the competition for a WVU player.  WVU usually had a representative ooc schedule over that period of time though.  I have no doubt that Noel Devine played against better competition while at WVU then Dri Archer did while at Kent State.  Not to the point that I would downgrade Archer's competition strongly in comparison.  Because the other factor is talent playing with.  I would venture a guess you'd agree that Noel had much better talent around him at WVU, and better in comparison to their opponents as well.  Have we gone far enough down the rabbit hole on this one though?  Truce?

I would be interested to see what Archers yards after catch is. My point was Archer is more likely to be able blow completely by players in the MAC than the Big East so I would expect his yards per reception and yards per carry to be higher.

I can't believe PR posters think we will waste a draft pick on another RB to the already crowded BUCS backfield. RB is the deepest position we have. IMO

If this shocks you, wait till you start seeing the posts that want to trade our best players away for 5th or 6th rounders come draft day.

Like I said, I would like Ladarius Perkins in the 7th round or as an undrafted free agent.....but I'm not sure why anyone would want to draft a RB earlier than the 7th round with the RB stable we already have.

So, Glennon is .01 seconds slower than Bortles and .03 seconds faster than Garropolo in the 40?

Matthews at 4.4 and 4.44 will cause some second looks.

I love Jordan Matthews. My 2nd rated behind Evans. He just assured himself a 1st rounder with that 40 time.
