Ross Tucker on Sirius suggested this morning that the only reason the NFL has "unofficial times" in its combine coverage is to bolster the perception of some players. He pointed to Manziel with and the difference between his "unofficial time" and "official" time. Clowney put up a 4.4ish "unofficial" time right as Tucker was speaking, anyone seen his official time yet?
They won't announce official times until all DLs (both groups) have run.
I agree, can never have enough dline depth, plus McCoy could use a breather so he can be more fresh in the 4th quarter.

thanks, will be interesting to see if Tucker's theory holds up
I guess I just look around and see the Seattle Seahawks with DEs like 245lbs Bruce Irving and 328lbs Red Bryant. I see the leading sacker in 2013 as 6'1" 245lbs Robert Mathis, and greg Hardy at 6'5" 290lbs.....and I realize that great pass rushing DEs come in all shapes and sizes. I look at the Seahawks now and the Giants of 5 years ago and I see great 4-3 defenses having great success by stockpiling pass rushers. I don't buy into the idea that we need a 250lbs guy to improve our pass rush. I see a guy in Donald that has a better explosion/strength/motor combination than anyone else in the draft....and I wanna take him. I don't care if he has a DT or a DE next to his name.
Apparently one scout has archer running a 4.18 40. Hand tinned of course.
Gotta love how we miss out on seeing drills because we need to see Clowney standing on the sideline.....fucking NFL Network.

He's so dreamy though. I'll bet Naismith would shower with him.
Pisses me off we've gone 4-12 twice in the last 3 seasons and both times we've been picking #7.
Was just having this conversation a lil while ago. We can't even suck good enough.
He's sitting out the drills that he doesn't like. Sounds like his 2013 season. Eff this kid.

I'd shower with him, as long as he puts in a complete effort from the first drop to the last. Showering is a team effort.
"He just ran an official electronic timed 4.26. How can you say you look at him as a high 4.2 guy?"Because 4.27 would be in the high 4.2 range? You're actually arguing over a single hundredth of a second?
MEANINGLESS WINS FTW!!!!! EVERY WIN IS MEANINGFUL -Glennon/Schiano supporters. Looks like we will be picking Broderick Thomas again boys.
Can't argue with that. Some have a difficult time thinking big picture.

I've had to send chicks packing because of that same problem.

Needs to have his hands looked at. Using Bolt would run roughly a 4.2 so unless Dri Archer is faster than Usain Bolt that scout is wrong.
Archer and the scout that timed him are Jabronis.
