Wait...I thought Dummynik was a cap and contract wizard ? Why do we have all this reworking that needs done ?!  Lol

It is because he was a cap and contract wizard that we CAN rework and do what we need to. Only contract we are stuck with for another year is Goldsons'. Everyone else is set up to be cut or traded with no repercussions to our cap number.

Everyone?  Like Nicks?Dom is SOOOO overrated here.

Yeah Dom sucks ....come to find out Dom didn't even structure these great contracts Jdud speaks of anyways. There's a capologist guy on staff, who we did not fire , and is still here.Micheal Greenberg - from Buccaneers.com :"Greenberg works directly with General Manager Mark Dominik on all aspects of the salary cap, contract negotiations and strategic planning. He also oversees budgeting for all football operations."

Dom is a negotiator. He sits down with the player and agent and hammers a deal. It's a real talent that many do not have. Greenburg is just a lawyer. He crosses the t's and dots the i's. Makes sure the wording is proper and legal and the Bucs' ass is covered. Makes sure the numbers add up. So I have no idea who will be handling the negotiating now.

He specifically said he won't be handling contract negotiations.

I'm pretty sure he means the sitting down and crunching of exact numbers and wording contacts like we just talked about.A GM has to be involved in some capacity. You can't bring guys in and know if you want to sign them without knowing if they will sign for the right price and fit within your cap structure. You do this by talking basic numbers with the agent. This is all Dummynik did . Greenberg works the magic from there .

You think Dennis Hickey is gonna negotiate contracts in Miami? The GM doesn't have to be involved in negotiations and since Licht specifically said he was not going to be handling contract negotiations or managing the cap....he won't be.

I just explained to you what happens. The GM has to be involved in cap decisions, otherwise he can't make an informed decision on how to piece the team together. A GM must be involved in the negotiations on some level. They all are. Not much will change from the way it was always done , Licht was simply talking about not being part of the actual nuts and bolts of the contract. Stop being obtuse.

The guy says " I will not be involved with contract negotiations" and you decide that isn't really true and that he meant something different.....but I am being obtuse? Lol. Sure buddy.

Yes you are. You are making an idiotic argument because you didn't know Dom had a capologist/contract guy. LolLet's say Licht thinks signing Jared Allen is a key part of his rebuilding plan. Do you NOT think he has a number in mind that the Bucs could pay him , and fit him in with all the other pieces he wants to add ? How do you think it works if he plays no part whatsoever ? Does he just say, " oh BTW , cap guy , sign that Jared Allen guy....What's the target price ?? What's the most we can budge ? If I ok paying more how does it effect the other things I want to do ?? Oh who cares that's not my job!  We'll worry about it later."Not how it works. He HAS to have a role in the negotiations because the plan for building the team is his .You are being obtuse.

In his interview with Booger and Rich Licht said he will be some what involved in negotiations. This was tweeted about Greenberg, by the guy that used to work for the Bucs.(in reference to Tillman and his value at 33).@NFLosophy: @Jason_OTC @corryjoel Tampa's Dir. of Football Admin Greenberg is a shrewd negotiator. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.
