Tillman isn't exactly an ideal slot either. He'd obviously be better than Banks inside, but I'm not so sure we wouldn't be better off with a younger guy that is better suited to play nickel. A guy like Sam Shields, Nolan Carroll, Walter Thurmond, or Alterraun Verner might make more sense. Even if we go with an older guy, Brent Grimes would probably be a better fit as nickel.
Agree mostly, but Tillman will come cheaper and we probably need to spend more money on DE
Titans could dump Kam Wimbley...As a rotational pass rusher, he could give the 'nole fans a chance to do that wailing thing they do.
Tillman has stated that he "guarantees" he will retire a Bear. Oh dear.
Pass on Tillman. I am with the others he isn't a slot guy and neither is Banks.
Moving Zutah back to guard I think is a mistake, we moved him to center because he was better there, and we improved our center and guard slots by moving him and inserting Nicks at guard.q we would be better served getting nicks healthy or getting a free agent if available unless we can find a draft able stud
Man, that segment about Tilman during the NFL Honors gala was pretty damn moving. I want the guy here.
Some realistic FAs that should be relatively affordable to replace some of the crappy depth we have currently. Might even be a few guys on here that earn starting roles. Out of that list, I like Jones, Wright and Asamoah.
@NFLosophy tweeted about TE Anthony McCoy from Seattle. I had never heard of him, but he said he was excited about him. He followed it up by saying Seattle fans were tweeting him to keep quiet about McCoy so he'd come back to the Seahawks. He's a free agent and tore his achilles last May and was on the IR all year.

Good fans but that's pretty dumb thinking.
I'm pretty sure they were saying it tongue in cheek, but the point was that the fans are high on the guy. I don't know anything about him.

He was pretty good coming out of USC.
Banks, most definitely, is not a viable option inside, his strengths and playstyle scream outside corner. There are some solid options at FA that could fill the Nick spot. I like Shields being an FA, he has quick hips, quick recovery and is built suitably for an inside role and also can cover on the outside decent enough. One thing I haven't seen mentioned that we need to remember when debating the nick position is that IF Lovie and co. decide to use revis in his Island form than there will be plays where he will be lined up inside...covering the #1 WR when he lines up in the slot which happens in this league (albeit not that often) so we may be better off finding a nickel that isn't ONLY strong on the inside. I don't think the draft is the place to accomplish this. Personally, I think Shields and Nolan Carroll really deserve consideration for this spot on our D.In regards to a pass rusher, I think Jared Allen sounds like a great option and would be a blast to have that energy on the field for our D; however, he may desire a little more than we can afford. Everyone mentioning Tuck are on to something, I feel he may be the best value FA DE this year and is definitely worth a look.I also like the general consesus we have here of building our OFFENSE in the draft this year, with the exception of maybe scooping FAs for our Interior OL and our "speed in space" needs. I really hope we go TE this year in the draft, I can't remember the last time I saw a TE class that was so DEEP. I fear that Sefarian-Jenkins may boost his value into 1st round prospect at the combine because he is an athletic SOB, but even if that does happen I still think there will be plenty of TE value to scoop in the draft and hope we can get Wright some solid help out there.
Stephen Nicholas - LB - Free AgentFalcons released OLB Stephen Nicholas.Nicholas, 31 in May, started 17 games -- including the playoffs -- at strong-side linebacker in 2012 but had been relegated to backup and special teams duties this past season. He notched just 35 tackles and one sack in 14 games. The Falcons save $2 million against the 2014 salary cap with the release of Nicholas. Joplo Bartu played mostly well as Atlanta's strong-side 'backer in 2013.Related: FalconsSource: Alex Marvez on Twitter
