Please no, to Mack. I'm done with paying big $ because we are too stupid to find interior linemen in the draft.
so you want to pass on a proven commodity and roll the dice in the draft? im fine with paying guys in FA as long as the salary is appropriate and the player is actually good. Mack would be a welcome addition to the team
At over $8 million dollars per season for 6 seasons? You think so?
like i said, if the price is right. 8mil is a bit high. maybe 5-6mil assuming we trim some more OL fat off this team
I would love to have Mack anchoring this Oline for the next half dozen years, however, I believe the starting point for negotiations on his contract, if he makes it to FA, will be Kalil's 6 year $49.1 million deal
yeah if thats the case then pass. id love to have him but not for that much money. youd think hed be willing to take a pay cut just to get out of Cleveland and actually have a chance to win something

See, that's my problem with Mack - we are looking at an average of $8 million per, and while we could fit that in the cap, it has to hurt at some point. Right now Carolina is staring at an $11 million cap number on Ryan Kalil. I also see Zuttah as good enough to win with at C as long as he has functional guards on his right and left. I'm a little more optimistic about Nicks' return than most. We just need to replace Joseph and upgrade the interior depth in the short run.
Branden Albert - T - Chiefs610 Sports Radio in Kansas City reports the Chiefs plan to let LT Branden Albert walk in free agency and have no intentions of re-signing him.Take this with a grain of salt, as Danny Parkins, a host of one of the radio shows, has no history of breaking news and doesn't have a following among NFL media outside of Kansas City. However, signs have pointed to this for a while. The Chiefs took Eric Fisher with the No. 1 overall pick last April and had designs of trading Albert before those deals never came to fruition. Fisher should slide over to left tackle in 2014. Donald Stephenson, who started eight games in 2013, will get the first crack at the right tackle job. Albert is our No. 3 free-agent tackle.Source: Danny Parkins on Twitter
Albert is 2 years younger than Penn and is very good when healthy. Wonder how much he'll cost per year.

Just a guess...6 years $60 million with $35 million guaranteed.

Well, considering we save $7.5M if we cut/trade Penn....it would only cost a net $2.5M/yr to upgrade from Penn to Albert. If your guess is right. Tempting.

I'd take it.

The Buc just need to get by the first wave of FA and let the other teams with massive salary cap space overpay for 7-10 guys and then the bargain deals for good players will come to them
Cutting Jospeh and Penn and replacing them with Albert and Mack wouldn't be much of a net difference as far as cap, but it sure would be a big change. I could get behind that.

Vilma, Smith,Greer and Harper cut by the Saints.

Free Agency just got a whole lot more interesting with Brandon Albert hitting the open market.
