Just not a fan of grossly overpaying FAs. Most the top DEs are old and likely only have a few good years left. Don't wanna get stuck holding the bill when they fall off in a year or two. Also, don't wanna pay elite money to non elite players. We'll just half to see how it plays out. Personally I am hoping we concentrate on OL in free agency, as far as the early top money guys in the first few days. Then look for solid value at DT, DE, WR, and TE later on in week two and three.
Kinda surprising.. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000329310/article/report-atlanta-falcons-to-release-thomas-decoud
D'Qwell Jackson released by CLE. Would he fit at MLB here?
You have to pick and choose when and how money is spent. If the projected salary cap is going to be greater than even $132 million then this makes the situation worse from a team stand point. A lot of non premium positions (eg, guards, safties, linebackers, wide receivers) will be overpaid.Do the Bucs need to overpay for a right guard? No the Bucs just need a competent right guard that is average at best and a left guard that doesn't whiff unlike Carimi. Do the Bucs need to sign a WR to mega money? No they need a decent slot guy that can catch 30-40 passes per year on average. Do the Bucs need to spend big money for a SAM? No because SAM is pretty much a two down position now.Spending on top tier free agents in leans year is the most optimal as you have less competition.Too much competition in less than two weeks for the Bucs to go on a big money splurge. And the other factor is the Bucs have to re-sign McCoy, David, and possibly Martin in the near future.

He would have, but I don't think he's the same player anymore. I've been hoping for him to walk for several years (when the first switched to 3-4, I thought it was a guarantee). I haven't watched him closely, but his PFF rankings for LBs went from 18, to the 40s (past two years).
With Jackson and DeCoud... Our second level would be the best in the league?

In that case, let's sign hm !!
Jackson will be 31 for the 2014 season and he was released because he isn't very good anymore. Why would we sign him? Depth? He certainly isn't starting over Mason Foster.
Jim Wyatt ?@jwyattsportsStill no real progress between #Titans and CB Alterraun Verner. Scheduled to hit FA on March 11
Jeff Zrebiec ?@jeffzrebiecsun 3mThe #Ravens will release fullback Vonta Leach and LB Jameel McClain, per sources. Not official but should be soon.
Adam Schefter ?@AdamSchefter 17mNo great surprise, but the Saints will use their franchise tag on tight end Jimmy Graham before Monday’s deadline, per a league source.

Not here. We already have met our quota for idiot receivers.
Adam Schefter ?@AdamSchefter 8mWR Jeremy Maclin and Eagles have reached agreement on a one-year deal, per source.
CB Hayden did a one year deal with the Bears earlier. It's weird that the salary cap is skyrocketing and free agents stand to make a fortune....yet we are seeing this trend of one year deals continue from last offseason. Can't understand why these guys wouldn't test the market.
