Phins extend Brent Grimes
Lots of money for a corner of that age IMO.
Raiders didn't franchise Jared Veldheer. He's my #1 guy.

hahaha! I remember the logic being you can sign 2-3 average(re: mediocre) players for the price of the Island and be better off....
do you guys really think signing derek cox and sean smith would have left us with less than 4 wins?

Less than 4 wins, who knows. I do know the combination of Revis and Banks is immensely better than that of Cox and Smith...

It's a team game, but I don't think our pass D would have been as good.

No we would have been a 4 win with more crappy corners and still looking for a number #1 guy.

i agree with you. but the cox/smith combo comes with banks, a 1st round pick, a 3rd round pick, and 10 million dollars to spend on other FAs. with those additions to the mix, it becomes much more questionable which is the better option longterm.
More money to spread on crap? No thank you. I'll take Revis.

Well, I doubt we draft banks if we had signed that combo. The 1st rounder, ok, there's still 50/50 that turns into a great player...whereas with Revis we know we did get a great player. And Cox/Smith were around 10 million combined themselves IIRC, plus the money towards said 1st round pick would've only left us a 2.5 million to play with last year...and we still would've had a subpar secondary, instead of one that was tied for third in the NFL in interceptions last year
