hahaha! I remember the logic being you can sign 2-3 average(re: mediocre) players for the price of the Island and be better off....
Thankfully we had Dominik and Schiano calling the shots and not these message board GM's or else the Bucs would have sucked last season.
Revis and his 16 million wasn't the reason we sucked. They had money to sign more players if they wanted. People just want to **CENSORED** because the team had a horrible season and he's paid.

Would you prefer we suck with mediocre talent and know the next season we still have that craptastic overpaid mediocre talent OR would you rather we suck like we did last year and know that we still have one of the best CB's if not the best CB coming back and more than likely 100% healthy?

Money is irrelevant when you're as far below the cap as the Bucs are. It wouldn't even make a difference if the Bucs were paying Revis $25 million per year. When you have the #32 offense and by far the worst QB in your division, it can pretty easily be argued a 2013 1st round pick with the potential to play at a high level past the year 2020 and a high 3rd in a loaded draft will help you win more games in the long run. And had the Bucs not traded for him, he'd be a free agent in a week or so.
I'll keep Revis. I'm perfectly fine with the trade. If we want a 3rd and our top guys are no longer on the board we can always trade down and accumulate picks.

The only thing Revis stopped us from getting was a 1st last year and a 3rd this year. He's the best in the game tho so I can live with it.And with the cap going up 10 million a year, his contract isn't holding us back from anything.

1a and 1b not much of a difference.
Over the last two seasons, he has put a good amount of separation between himself and Revis. Enough to call it #1 and #2, IMO.
