Sweet
Scott Smith ?@ScottSBucs 9mBucs have signed RB Bobby Rainey to a 2-year extension.
Speed in space , baby .
Felt certain Rainey would be retained, but it's a sigh of relief to see it done. Love our backfield. Hope Lonnie Pryor can rise up and earn a spot on the final 53 too.

im interested to see what they do with him. I think he could be a really good 3rd down back for us
Adam Schefter ?@AdamSchefter 51sBears agreed to terms with DT Jay Ratliff on a two-year contract.
Melton... Come on down
Matt Miller ?@nfldraftscout 30mThe love may not be mutual, but I've heard all offseason that Michael Johnson wants to head home and play for the #Falcons. This is what I predict. Falgoons will sign Michael Johnson in FA and then draft one of the top OTs in the 1st round.
I think Johnson is a good player, but not a great player. He'd still be a lot better than what they have.

I know they want Osi to take a paycut but aren't the Falcons in a pretty bad cap situation?

It's not atrocious - they've got about $18 million, but once the new league year starts in a few days, Gonzalez' retirement goes through they'll get $7 million more. Problem is they have a ton of holes.
Hatcher is a very short term answer since he is about to turn 32 next month, and he has only looked average until he was playing UT in Kiffins' 4-3 last year. He can't play UT here, so he isn't worth any big money. If he is cheap, he is an upgrade over Gary Gibson as short term veteran depth....but that's about it.
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/03/06/steve-smith-planning-on-being-a-panther-until-told-otherwise/ I know a lot of people don't like Steve Smith but could you imagine the Panthers cutting him and we sign him. If anyone in the wide world of sports would play with a chip on his shoulder it would be this man against the Kitties twice a year. Steve Smith the man is a punk, but the player is/was fun to watch (just not against the Bucs) Disclaimer: I'm not saying we are or will do this, just thinking outloud

I think I like him a lot as the Gibson/Landri stop-gap, though his 'tude about the payday is a bit annoying. I think he's in for a very rude awakening, because I don't think many teams will agree with him on how rich he thinks he should be.
