Dane Fletcher final contract deets: http://overthecap.com/cap.php?Name=Dane%20Fletcher&Position=ILB&Team=Buccaneers 1.2 mil cap # but almost all guaranteed.  Wasn't it initially reported as 2 mil?  Compare his contract to what Koda got from the Jags: http://overthecap.com/cap.php?Name=Dekoda%20Watson&Position=43OLB&Team=Jaguars I'll take Fletcher and that contract thank you.  Oneal Cousins also posted: http://overthecap.com/cap.php?Name=Oniel%20Cousins&Position=LT&Team=Buccaneers I noticed this on Gorrer's contract as well.  How can someone have a higher base salary on a 1 year deal then their cap number?  otc still estimating over 9.3 mil in remaining cap space with everyone we know on the top 51 (right?).  Spend dat yo.

Yep. Right around $9.5M is what I see. Gotta keep $5M for rookies....but we can cut koenen at any time to make an additional $3.25M.....so we can definitely keep signing guys. I doubt we'll see anymore big contracts, but we should be able to keep bringing in these small contract guys like Myers, Fletcher, Cousins, and Cain. Not super exciting but all these little signings are a big part of L&L shaping this roster how they want it. Also, cutting Stocker and Bowers would give us an additional $2M.

Pretty sure Stocker is a goner, with Myers here and Wright being a talent to keep building, I think it will between Crabtree and a rookie they bring in for the third spot and Bowers I remember hearing Cullen saying he wants to work with him, so I guess he will get camp to show what he can do or he will def be gone.

it's the Minimum Salary Benefit rules created to help vet at the end of their career... you lower the cap value to $570K...plenty of veterans at the end of their career would likely play for less money just to get a chance to keep playing but the CBA mandates that they make a minimum salary level, ranging in 2014 anywhere from $730,000 to $955,000. Essentially the veteran is hurt by the CBA. To try to level the playing field, the NFL and NFLPA agreed on a clause called the Minimum Salary Benefit, essentially taking the salary cap consideration out of the equation. What the Minimum Salary Benefit does is bring the veteran players salary cap charge attributed to his CBA mandated base salary down to that of a player who has been in the NFL for just two seasons with the difference being charged to Player Benefits. All players with at least 4 credited seasons are eligible for the Minimum Salary Benefitthe contract must only be 1 year in length & minimum base salary... Additional compensation can not exceed $65,000 and that includes bonuses from other teams.ex: if you sign a player with 8 credited season for a year at minimum sal... player cost $855K (minimum base sal) but the cap value is $570K.

Excellent info Freeman.  Thank you.  Explains why Gorrer got it also.

Crap.  Eric Page.  Still don't have that contract yet.  That has to be another minimum deal, right?

no cap increase, with only one credited season Eric Page salary should be $495K... which is the same cap value for the 51th highest bucs salary...Bucs have $9.3M in cap space

Louis Murphy is meeting with the Bengals...so I would assume he will make a decision soon enough.Cason is set to sign with the Panthers soon which would be a good move for them.Jared Allen is making a 2nd visit with the Seahawks.A Roy Cummings article hints at the Bucs are not done signing free agents yet.  WR and CB are obviously two positions the Bucs are focusing on now.

**CENSORED**I hope he is really washed up!

I wish I could believe he was washed up. As long as he does his miraculous returns against other teams, I'm okay with it.
