Is the draft really just a crap shoot? Is there any way to determine if a player "can't miss" as a prospect?
Let's take a stab at it. Here are my top 5 can't miss prospects:
1 Budda Baker. I have watched literally hours of Budda Baker and spent hours reading up on him. This is my No.1 can't miss prospect. He always goes full speed, he is a film room junkie, and he was the state champ 100m sprinter in HS. If he was 2" taller and had a 40" vert he would be the top safety in the class.
2 Derek Barnett. Well, I am trusting the film and to hell with the 40 yard dash in tights. His skills translate. What is his skill? Dominating the guy in front of him every time.
3 Adoree' Jackson. I think Jackson could possibly either play offense, or defense at a high level, but if it's me I am putting him at CB and he will return kicks and punt on a limited basis (when you need it really bad)
4 Evan Engram. I have seen lots of criticism about Engram being a tweener, but I like him as a WR. He isn't the best route runner and his change of direction isn't ideal but he is basically Anquan Bolden running a 4.4 40 yard dash. I am all in on Engram
5 Jamal Adams. Yeah, he isn't a cover safety. That's a bit scary as a buc fan (see Mark Barron) but in the right defense Adams is going to be fire. I have him rated as the top strong safety in the last few years. I would be super disappointed if he was the next Matt Elam. I have faith in Adams
