First of all, there are several key pieces that the Bucs had this year that I would like to see return next year. They are:
1. Mike Glennon - Backup QB - could be worse.
2. Jacquizz Rodgers - Backup RB - coupled with Martin and Sims, could be best in league.
3. Adam Humphries/Russell Shepard - maybe not the best options, but work hard.
4. Cameron Brate - Starting TE - no brainer. Great QB chemistry.
5. Joe Hawley - Starting C - I personally like his veteran presence.
6. Jacquies Smith/ Will Gholston - DE - Solid depth drastically needed on that DL.
7. Daryl Smith - Starting SLB - Intelligent veteran that is worth keeping around.
8. Jude Adjei-Barimah - Starting Nickel - Could be worse. Solid depth.
9. Brad McDougald/Chris Conte - S - Depth to compete in Training Camp with FA/Rookies.
In free agency, there are several veterans I would like to bring in that fit what our offense likes to do. They are:
1. Alshon Jeffrey - WR - Solid replacement for Vincent Jackson.
2. Marquise Goodwin - WR/KR - Olympic speed receiver with good hands. Another slot option.
3. Eric Kush - G - Works hard and durable. Could be a great fit next to Hawley.
4. Nick Fairley - DT - Wishful thinking.
Personally, I like most of the players the Bucs already have, but with injuries we never got to see them fully evolve on offense or defense. A few key additions, whether for depth or to start should help push them to the playoffs without messing up the team chemistry.
