$16.7M of space with 48 players on roster. Add 3 more minimum salaries and actual cap space is $14.4M

Notable Free Agents

    Chris Godwin
    Lavonte David
    Shaq Barrett
    Rob Gronkowski
    Ndamukong Suh
    Leonard Fournette
    Rakeem Nunez-Roches
    Ryan Smith

Bloated salaries team can walk away from
    Donovan Smith $14.3M
    JPP ($7.5M savings)
    Ryan Jensen $10M
    Cam Brate $6.5M

Bucs are in a dangerous position by having Godwin, David and Barrett all going into UFA the same year.

David would be easiest to sign because he's the oldest, has the least market value and he's already carrying a $10.8M cap figure.
Suggestion: Right now, 4 years, $56M, $30M guaranteed at signing ($16M signing bonus, 2020 and 2021 base salaries fully guaranteed). Get his 2020 cap hit down to $8M, saving $2.8M.

Godwin. Bucs are stupid for waiting this long. He looks like Brady's favorite target. Would not be surprised if he led league in yards and TDs. This is going to be $18M a year right now, $20+ if we wait.
Suggestion: Right now, 6 years, $108M, $51M guaranteed at signing. Cap hit in 2020 only $5.4M and $14.3M in 2021.

Good news: I've now locked up two homegrown elite players. And I've freed up the franchise tag for Barrett again in 2021 if needed.

Bad news: Bucs are now $13.9 over 2021 cap with Barrett unsigned. This is why we needed to let JPP and Suh walk and not gotten Gronk. All 4 mentioned above (Smith, JPP, Brate, Jensen) are going to have to go, there's not really any other option.
