There's no reason for a rebuilding team to start a veteran journeyman QB unless you are trying to win now.
Good grief. the two things are not mutually exclusive. But that is topped by this
When you say a team is rebuilding, you are implying that they are sacrificing the present success to improve their chances of future success.
Translated: "I am going to give you a definition of 'rebuilding' that I can try to square with my past incorrect posts."
and wow this one . .
The Bucs are not going through more transition than the average NFL team. That's always been my point. I've been clear about that.
LMAO.
Being a Bucs homer, on paper, the Bucs are not better than the Eagles, Cowboys, Giants, Saints, 49ers, Rams, Seahawks, Vikings, or Lions. So that ranks us what, 10th in the conference?
let's argue we are better than Rams, maybe one other team...we are ranked 8th...still outside looking in on playoffs
when ranking the teams, take into account not only the roster, but coaching staff as well
do i think we have a shot at the playoffs? for sure...but it would entail a Baker Mayfield career year. If he plays like his last few years, we are looking at a 6-7 wins max. If he channels his prime with Cleveland, we can be 9-8 and likely knab a wild card spot.
a career year and anything is possible....he's got Evans and Godwin but unfortunately he doesn't have the offensive line
a career year [from Mayfield] and anything is possible.
This is what the Bucs need.
It's possible. He has a lot to gain.
Possible, maybe not probable
Looking forward to the season. Hopefully Bucs fans will have something to cheer about.
Regarding the NFC and strength of those teams. The NFC is likely playing for SB runner-up. The AFC representative will be well-tested, and a likely SB champion.
