to different ways to look at it. (1) One is for this season with no viable replacement while the other (2) is we can resign or draft a replacement in offseason for 2024 season

for this season, have to rank it as (1) mayfield (2) wirfs, (3) evans (4) vea (5) Winfield

We’d likely be 0-4 with trask or at best 1-3. A difference of opinion I suppose but I think our offense would be averaging a touchdown less per game which would put us at 14 points.

in terms of priority to for 2024 season assuming we could replace

(1) Wirfs

(2) Vea

(3) Evans

(4) mayfield

(5) Winfield

Wirfs is the possibly the best player in the league at a critical position, so hard to argue against him.  But if I think Vea is most indispensable because the defense starts with him with the personnel we have.   The defense is designed to stop the run first, and for the most part that's been the case.  And it depends on Vea to getting extra attention to allow for the pass rush to get home.  That in turn puts pressure on the opposing QB to make bad passes and interceptions.   With the quality of QBs in this league, you can't win if you don't put pressure on them.

If Kancey can get healthy that may put another piece in the interior that will be another player who can create some problems up the middle, so I could change my vote to Wirfs if Kancey can turn into what the Bucs think he can be.  But that's hypothetical right now.

No doubt Vea is a huge part of the defense and the teams success

Remember this?

"

AMPA, Fla. -- Tampa Bay Buccaneers All-Pro Tristan Wirfs said Friday that the move from right to left tackle this spring became a source of such debilitating anxiety that he began seeing team sports psychologist Joe Carella for help.

"It seems like so minuscule, like oh, you're just flipping sides, but I was like having breakdowns about it," Wirfs said. "I'm like, 'I can't sit here with these thoughts anymore, I'm just kind of setting myself up for failure.' I would just think about, 'I am going to suck' or like, 'I am not going to be able to do it' all day long."
