Wirfs had nothing more than a check in confidence. Not a mental breakdown. Just needed some help getting his mojo back.
The whole defense starts with stopping the run clogging the middle and freeing up others to make plays...Vita Vea.
Not at all. Is it the addition of the kicker punter? This bucks teams it’s a gritty and solid team. We’re not flashy and require mistake free football. Those kinds of teams need special teams to give them an overwhelmingly important role that is understandably “taken for granted”. We need Camarda to swing field position, and we need a kicker who can give us 3 points at over 50+ yards. With tough physical mistake free teams, special teams makes a huge difference.
My answer is C) Vita Vea.
he only plays about 45% of the defensive snaps as is. Not exactly a good argument for indispensible
Wirfs on offense
vea on defense
lock them both up!
@rhbucsfan most dlineman rotate.
he’s our best player on defense followed by awj.
awj plays every snap(or close to it) but safety’s don’t have the impact as dlineman. Safety’s you can avoid on any given play. Dlineman you can on running plays I suppose but still an elite front 3/4>an elite secondary all day.
you build from the inside out not the other way around. Teams that win the trenches constantly(eagles, lions) have success for a reason

I know how teams are built. Inside to outside. I’m not saying Vea isn’t good. He’s awesome, when he’s on the field. Fact is, he plays less than 50% of the defensive snaps. Of course defensive line players rotate out, but that number is exceptionally low. It’s not opinion, it’s documented snap count you can look back on throughout this short season and his history in the league.
I still think AWJ is a better player and plying like a first team all pro right now.
If anyone says any answer other than Wirfs, go watch soccer.
@rhbucsfan won’t debate that. I love me some awj. I have a t shirt of him throwing the deuces to tyreek hill during the Super Bowl with a parental advisory warning lmao.
the other concern is awj is more injury prone then vea.
awj won’t get a contract anywhere near what vea got.
For good reason.
@donkey_hunter dating back to college as well that’s why awj fell to the 2nd round
But didnt realize it was that substantial of a difference in the NFL thus far.
Stafford appeared injury prone early in his career as well but certainly bucked that trend.
Easier to stay healthy as a qb however as they can’t be touched in todays league.
hopefully they both have long healthy careers.

Lol, wut? C’mon Doc, you sure about that?
Baker without him we may not have a win right now
Baker without him we may not have a win right now
yeah in season, hard to argue against the QB, particular when the backup isn’t in the same ballpark as the starter.
like colts, Richardson as a rookie versus minshew, probably not end of world; Daniel jones versus Tyrod Taylor; Jamie’s Winston versus Ryan Fitzpatrick
but yeah going Brady to gabbert or Mayfield to Trask in a season would not be good.
id argue above that we’d average 7 less points a game with trask and be 1-3 at best.
But if we are asking me this question in offseason where we have a chance to get a replacement QB I am with everyone else - wirfs, Vea, etc
