Interesting to see the newest rounds of mocks (with the updated seedings after the WC matchups).
Average projection has us picking #26.
Still think it's too high for any iOL.
So, what would be the best value here?
Edge, CB, LB?
Really think this is an ideal year to move out of the 1st and try and load up on 2nd and 3rd's if possible.
I think guys like Powers-Johnson, Van Pran, Frazier, Mahogany, Zinter, and others will be in that range. So, we should have plenty of options for the interior.
I dont mind securing a guy like Van pren with a first, if we believe hes gonna be a good player I don't mind securing him. A sturdy center is imperative to the success of baker who is a lil shorter than usual, Mauch man idk he needs to get stronger this offseason, I hope he develops but he's been getting put on his back a lil too much this season. Greenard from Houston would be worth the 20M if he becomes available, he would do very well in this system. Our corners get injured and Davis contract going up, were gonna need another #1 corner soon enough.
Value at 26 is hard but, it’s a perfect position for a team like us to trade back.
iOL and EDGE our biggest need and we will be out of play for the top pass rush guys. I would not be opposed for a slight trade up to get a pass rush guy though.
Bucs probably take the best edge on the board in round 1 and then round 2 take best available interior OL.
Trading out of the first round might be in the cards. Licht has done it before, trading down from 27 to 33 to get Logan Hall in the 2nd Round and picked up a high 4th Round and a 6th Round. I could see Licht once again stocking up on the young players as he tries to build on what he did last year by going light on the stopgap free agents and building youth and depth for the future.
At QB I presume the Bucs will resign Baker. They may draft a QB but there will be guys like Ewers and Rattler or whoever floats his boat in the draft process and is hanging around Day 2.
Day 2 is a good place to draft defensive backs and inside offensive line. The Bucs could use a 1st round pick on a linebacker if there was one, but it doesn't seem like there are any worthy of that.
I think this will be Year 2 of the restocking plan and Licht will once again try to flood the team with young players so picking up an extra pick or two could be in the cards.

I think if we stand pat and don't move, this is the most likely scenario (including an additional iOL in R3 or R4).

ADW, just to piggyback off of this; I've seen a number of mocks that still have guys like Trice, Braswell, Elliss, and Robinson as available ED's at #25-#28.
And, for 2nd round (iOL), I've seen Powers-Johnson, Frazier, Haynes, and Mahogany available at our projected spot.
Then you've got Ratledge, Beebe, Van Pran and Zinter there in R3.
So, if we stand pat, there's a good chance we pick up an impact rusher as well as landing 1 or 2 starters on the line to shore up the interior.
Mauch man idk he needs to get stronger this offseason, I hope he develops but he's been getting put on his back a lil too much this season.
FWIW, Ali Marpet was on the radio last week saying he is impressed with Mauch's first season. He also agrees Mauch needs to bulk up, but he likes Mauch's fundamentals and believes Mauch will develop into an outstanding player.
From that list, I think Chop Robinson and Trice would be worth that pick. Them other guys are round 2 prospects in my book so it'd be a reach. Again things can change between now and the combine. I'm definitely on board with that in the first 2 rounds. Third round would be the spot to take a QB in this class, or if everyone is gone by then SS.Bucs probably take the best edge on the board in round 1 and then round 2 take best available interior OL.

Before we spend a 1st on iOL I do not understand why Leverett doesn't play. He was really impressive last year and Stinnie and Mauch are just ehh
Nick Leverett was solid last year and thought he would win the LG spot. Guess he just didn't have "it" in camp to convince the coaches. Just don't see them rolling the dice on him after making him a third stringer. He should have had a chance to start but it didn't happen. Before we spend a 1st on iOL I do not understand why Leverett doesn't play. I don't think anyone on here is really advocating investing a 1st round pick into C/LG.
Wouldn't be surprised to see us draft a WR or ILB in round 1. We definitely need an updgrade at Safety and Center, too. A true running back like Michigan's Blake Corum is another possibility.
I like the thought of drafting an edge rusher with our first pick--as long as they re-sign Evans, but I really, really, hope we draft iOL with our next 2 picks. If they let Evans go, then we need to get a WR with our first pick IMO.
Possibly, but they've already spent a lot of high draft capital on the front line in recent years following up White with Tryon, Hall and Kancey. Diaby came in a later round and they did just fine with him. When the need for a starter is there and the talent is on the board of course that can be the pick. But I think the Bucs will try to squeeze another year out of Barrett who will be a year removed from his achilles and draft his replacement to back up and/or compete with him for the job. I just think they've spent a lot of capital on the front seven of the defense in recent years and they may go another direction in that first round if they don't trade out of the round all together.Bucs probably take the best edge on the board in round 1 and then round 2 take best available interior OL.
