It seems to me that the Bucs would better suited to trade for a proven pass rusher to have opposite if Diaby.  Which allows the Bucs to free up their first draft pick to go interior OL or even better trade down and then go interior OL.  And with the extra picks on the trade down shore up CB and S.

We don't have the cap to go after a premier edge rusher.

We will need to address it in the 1st or 2nd round of the draft.

ok, is their anyone in the mold of JTS.  Fast leaner kinda guy that…in a pinch can cover a TE or something.  I believe JTS had a passed defense against the Lions.  Honestly best case scenario is that Yaya and JTS and Hall use each other as fuel to grow, they are young and haven’t even started to peak/prime.  Maybe they need better coaching, dunno.

Interior oline needs work Stinnie and Hainsey.  Baller might need to give up the line calls,…is Jensen dun 4 gud?  Maybe a beast LG or Center, then the other in the second.  3rd-7th round defense and speed.

Licht has found ways to trade for veteran players that are limbo so he might be able to trade for an OL or edge rusher without surrendering a first or second round pick.

But assuming that doesn't happen then yes Licht will probably go edge or OL in round 1.

i mean would assume most of our cap space is going to Mayfield, Evans, Wirfs extension (may actually free up space), David, Winfield, and McLaughin.

so that leaves:

Guard, Center, Edge, inside linebacker, and safety as pressing needs.

Shaq's not even a JAG at this point so would think edge rusher will be targeting high in the draft. Not being able to rush the QB was a huge issue in the Lions game

if they can afford a guy on a prove it deal, that's likely the way to go - 1 year vet deal for a Clowney type guy paired with a first round pick, then have Diaby on the otherwise with JTR backing him up.

If we can save a penny to cut Shaq, you do it.

I’m pairing the 1st rounder with Diaby.

The vet can be rotational with JTS.

Yaya over JTS?  Y, potential...I agree!!! And its a guts move as Yaya produced more than JTS, but his play faded when he was made a starter, JTS started fighting when he lost his JOB-I like that in a person.  He just started to heat up in the last few games, he's may be poised to FINALLY break through the "rookie wall", better late than never.  Alls Well that Ends Well..and all that.

our problem is that whoever comes has no clue what is expecting him.

on the top of that bowles is going to stay on the hot seat, most of new coach signings  might be one and done

yes, division still sucks and we will might still be in contest for the division, but future is not too bright, bucs will need to reset rather sooner than later

did Baltimore reset after Flacco?

what about the chiefs after smith?

or the eagles after wentz? The cowboys after romo?

no such thing for good franchises. What we can do is build the team up and see how baker does in 2024.

the offense averaged 24 points a game during their 6-2 finish. Super Bowl teams are at 30. That’s where we are in the Brady 2020 and 2021 years. So if we can improve on that, we could be a top tier team

if baker falters next year, we likely have a better draft pick and you maybe pick a guy in 2025 draft

we sort of reset this past year with a bunch of rookies filling out the roster. There’s a way to do it and still reload to make the season entertaining to watch

I like your thinking. You want to do what they did.

Which QB do you want to take with our 1st or 2nd round pick in this year’s draft?

Trask hasn’t truly been tested in the NFL.  Preseason games and practice…all well and good.  But I was in the army, there’s a certain urgency and either focus or befuddlement that afflicts the mind when true Danger is near, this comes “when the bullets are LIVE” and the entire weight of the world is precariously balanced on a single point on yoU’re weaker* shoulder. All rides on yUo…win and Victory, or fail and possible die. BALLERz last pass was an Int (luckily no one died😂) which essentially ended the game, buuuuut, I Bet Godwin catches that ball, I’ve seen him, with my own 2 eyes, pluck BALLZ away in the air and from the clutches of 2-3 defenders Multiple times this year alone, just throw it up and let your clutch players make clutch plays….i wonder if that play was meant for Otton as 1st option, if so that’s on coaching, Otton is still too green for that “situational football” he does not yet even know what mamba mentality even means.  Anyhoo, need some data for after action report or it would also be boring and a time sink…both annoying nuisense that I’ve simply lost the gump’chun to continue being both bored and annoyed when I could just sit back and enjoy being entertained.

Based on how the new OC wants to run his offense the Bucs will have to find a way to upgrade interior OL, depth at RB, depth at WR, and a better in line blocking TE that can catch passes in the flat.
