That said, Bowles and most others DCs would still take White (or at least a more versatile LB) over platooning with Britt, as we will likely do listening to the coaches.

Free Agency and Bowles himself say otherwise.

well, money is a factor obviously but fair point.  I was thinking more both playing at their ability

Yeah, the 1-year, $4M contract he signed was obviously a big factor.

Seeing as we only have $400k in cap space & require getting AWJ’s contract re-worked in order to sign the draft picks, yeah, pain may be part of it.

Prisco

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: B+

Best Pick: Third-round receiver Jalen McMillan will prove to be a major steal. He was Washington's leading receiver in 2022, with more catches than Rome Odunze, who went ninth in this draft. McMillan will become a good slot receiver.

Worst Pick: I didn't love the pick of Chris Braswell in the second. I know they need pass-rush help, but this was a little high for Braswell in my book.

The Skinny: They did a nice job landing good players and also filling needs. It started with first-round guard-center Graham Barton, who will likely be the starting center. Braswell was picked for need and will be a rotation player early. I do like McMillan and fifth-round running back Bucky Irving

If I had to watch JTS, Hall, Braswell college film. I'd say Braswell has the best chance to not be a bust in our system. Physicality and style of play matches Bowles preferred end. Hall is a DT but watched him a few Houston games and could tell he needed refining. Braswell at this point has a higher floor than both of them

@white-tiger that is a ridiculous stretch,

yes they used the Winfield contract to clear the room but it was hardly a requirement.

Hall always plays tall which is why I am not sure why the coaches don't bring this up.  No leverage = no power.  With his frame and length if he is able to bend his knees he should be able to translate that length to power. Or, the very least try to disrupt passing lanes.

And he's always played tall too, even since his Houston days. I honestly don't know what the Bucs were thinking when they drafted him. A 6'6 DT that's 280 odd pounds is going to struggle vs the run because he's too light in the ass and struggle to win in pass rush situations because his height makes it hard for him to sink. Really no upside to his game. He is who he is at this point which is a back-up type lineman. Probably be out the league in 2-3 years.

George Karlaftis probably should have been the pick there.

Gholston is a similar build but he plays with leverage which is why he can kick inside and play DT in a pinch. Calais Campbell had a long career too but he played with leverage.

Hall has the potential but he isn't using his length properly and that is something the coaches should be hounding him on.
