will the following players who were on IR in 2024 have the opportunity to make the team in 2025?
1.Sua Opeta
2.Sirvoccia Dennis
3.Markees Watts
I really love SVD, his work ethic, his ability on the field, his football IQ - but he’s looking brittle, and the one consistent thing about his game is that he isn’t able to stay on the field.SVD will probably be a day 1 starter.
If we head into 2025, penciling him in as the starter, we’re going to have a pretty similar outcome as 2024.
Yes he's penciled in, but we can't see a repeat of 2024 and be high and dry when he gets injured. We need to bring in some real competition, not just depth fillers.I really love SVD, his work ethic, his ability on the field, his football IQ - but he’s looking brittle, and the one consistent thing about his game is that he isn’t able to stay on the field.SVD will probably be a day 1 starter.

Absolutely need to have proper depth at that position in 2025. Via FA or draft but they need to do something.

i hope not or atleast he has legit competition.
only sure fire starters should be Vea, Cancey, David (if he returns), McCollum and Winfield.
I imagine others like Tykee Smith and YaYa Diaby will end up winning starting jobs as well at safety and edge.
so that leaves LDE, Edge, ILB, and CB. Imagine we trade or sign a known commodity at edge, draft a CB and ILB high (2nd and 3rd round assuming we trade 1 for edge)
so the trade and the 2nd round CB should start, assuming Dean is cut; and the ILB third rounder should compete with Dennis.
I agree that the Bucs need to bring in a contingency in case Dennis is injured again. Opeta is high on the Bucs organiztion wish list to probably be offered to return.
Watts to an extent as well.
I am really interested to see how the Bucs approach signing their own free agents because outside of Godwin there isn't a must have to be returned. LVD maybe to an extent but not a must have like Godwin.
