as every year let’s guess our record
our division is still bad, but definitely better than last year and I find it very hard to make a guess
I'll be pessimistic and say 8-9
So tough because of the unpredictable start. They could be 4-2 heading into the Ravens game or 1-5.
Historically bad, but improving NFCS, but we had a NFCS schedule for a few years which has included a slightly tougher schedule. That is repeated this year and I’d like to see us win some games outside the NFCS to demonstrate that improvement.
A new OC/system makes this a bit more volatile, but every NFCS team will experience that.
I’ll go with an optimistic 9-8, again.
Weird how a certain contingent of fans are magically starting the "schedule blaming" campaign.
NOW, all of a sudden, the NFCS is "historically weak", when a month or so ago, it was "better/stronger" than the NFCE.
But, enough of the fence sitters...
I'm saying 10-7. Anything less is a failure.
Also, at the very least, a return to the NFC Divisional Round.
Again, anything less is a failure.
I’m going with 10-7 record and division champs

I think I am the one who mentioned the schedule, but schedule blaming? lol What is that?
And starting? I think there is another thread where I made the exact same point and that was back when the schedule came out.
@white-tiger Road wins at GB and Minny. I think Tampa is built for more than just the 4-5 wins they will get in the division.
You can defend the NFCE if you want to. I just know we’ve made the playoffs 3 years in a row, despite a first place schedule. We beat the Eagles pretty definitively, in a playoff game. So, the data would tend to support my premise.Weird how a certain contingent of fans are magically starting the "schedule blaming" campaign.

I’ve been pretty consistent in my mantra concerning the Bucs, having won the division, play a different/tougher schedule than the other NFCS teams.
Does a team that wins a division play a tougher schedule?
As I said, in order to believe we have improved, I’m going to need to see us win some non-conference games.
I think we can. We’ll see.
Last season the Bucs success was countered by some with talk of easy schedules and “tallest midget” awards. So, the schedule is relevant last year, but irrelevant this year? Schedule is a relevant critique of success but irrelevant as a potential basis for failure?
So, the data would tend to support my premise.
I'll take the ACTUAL data over your feelings.
One division produced 2 playoff teams, while the other produced one.
One division had more wins, better win percentage, and an overall better record than the other.
Now, the "other" did produce the worst team in the league. So, there's that.
Does a team that wins a division play a tougher schedule?
Yep. And, we played a first place schedule last year.
So, how is this year any different?
Again, anything less than 10-7 and a return to the Divisional is a failure.

They played a 1st place schedule last year, while being in the shittiest division in the NFL.
How is that any different than this year?
After correctly predicting the 9-8 record last year, I'll go for 11-6 this year.

so if it’s the same as last year then the schedule is relevant, right? It was relevant to discount their actual performance last year so raising it as I did above is equally relevant, if the standard is the same, right?
let’s get that out of the way since you seemed to mock it lol
Happy to answer what I see as the difference
Wins are facts, not feelings.
I don’t care how we get there, so long as we get there.
It's difficult to predict because you never know how Baker is going to play from year to year. I believe Bucs fans are going to be pleased with a very much improved running game. I'm going to be optimistic and hope Baker's play is as good as last year and predict a 10-7 record with a division crown and a seat at the NFC Championship.
