The Bucs have run a 4-3 base defense for so many years. If I recall correctly, the 3-4 defense became popular in the 1980's in response to the short passing game. Most teams run a 4-3 base defense today, but why has there not been more of a resurgence with the 3-4 since the passing game has become so dominant? I know the Bucs always have problems with the Steelers' 3-4 defense. Of course, the base defense used should be based on personnel, but I wonder if a 3-4 defense could be doable, assuming of course there is the right personnel.
