Lets start with the bad first:1. Bucs lack of a decent starter at LG OR RG.Most teams can disguise having one weak link on the OL when it is only one starter (eg extra blocking help). But there is little you can do to provide extra protection help for two OL without gimping your offensive skill players attacking a coverage down field. Bucs don't have the personnel to run a max protect scheme as Vincent Jackson and Mike Evans are not the speedy, shifty types. 2. Lack of depth at OT.Meredith and Cousins are strictly interior guys, and frankly should not be starting. But this only brings another problem such that OT depth is shaky at best, so we can only hope Pamphille accelerates his learning and Daniels can kick to the outside if need be. Right now depth at OT and OG is really bad if I was being objective as possible. Licht is going to skim the waiver wire after the final cuts for two upgrades on the OL.3. No third stringer project with potential thus far.Kafka is 27 year old (he is kind of ancient for a third stringer) and has no room for improvement in terms of potential. I want to see more of Tanney. 4. Nickel BackBucs could still use an upgrade at nickel back. Johnson/Pointer are battling it right now but I believe the Bucs can upgrade here5. No one stood out as a return specialist thus farIf Lovie is serious about the return game he is going to look elsewhere very soon if none of the guys in the pack pull away. Now onto the good:1. Top to bottom DL is strongest unit on the team it appears (starters and depth)... Defensive line depth looks the strongest based on versatility of players kicking on the inside (eg Gholston, Bowers) and a variety of player having power or speed. Bucs top 8 DL on the first iteration of the depth chart look likely to stick. If the Bucs opt to keep a 9th DL who will it be? Sutton? Talley? Masifilo? Solomon? This is a good problem to have but the Bucs may even explore the final cuts for their #9 or even #10 DL player.2. Line backer position depth surprisingly good.Surprisingly LB depth looks good in that a lot of these guys are not house hold names but they are very effective in what they are asked to do. Fletcher is good enough to be a starter for this defensive scheme. While Lansana and Gluad appear to be ST mavens and also decent depth that can fly to the ball. Looking from the outside in but have the potential to make this team are Munoz and the hard hitting Magee with Askew having a high ceiling of potential.3. Third WR slot is Streeter's to lose.He has been that good and he has continued his TC momentum into pre season. I think if he continues to play like he has he will be a wonderful addition to the offense and offers very good security in case Jackson or Evans are injured.4. Bucs most stacked position on offense is for sure RB.Sims/Rainey/Janes are showing nicely but Martin and Demps need to turn it up a notch but it is early. Can't ask for a better group IMO.5. Barth's predicted demise has been premature IMO. Barth just needs some more game time to be in the flow of things but he is good as he has always been. That is encouraging giving this team looks like is going to win a lot of under 15 points snooze fests.
