The Bucs seem focused on Charles Sims being their feature back, but does Sims really fit in that role?Desperate for offensive line help during the 2014 draft, the Bucs bypassed a starting caliber guard in the 3rd round for West Virginia RB Charles Sims. After an injury-plagued rookie season, it appears the Bucs are ready to have Sims as their feature back.As our Scout.com Fantasy staff pointed out last week, the Bucs coaching staff is "very high" on Sims. Unfortunately, that sentiment is not shared among NFL analysts.Chris Wesseling is one of the top NFL writers for NFL.com and a host on the "Around the NFL" podcast. Wesseling explains why there shouldn't be much excitement for Sims moving forward."As a rookie, Sims managed just 2.8 yards per carry in eight games. Our game notes point to subpar vision, burst and tackle-breaking ability. His film called to mind a slow-motion C.J. Spiller, lacking the explosive lateral agility and breakaway speed while showing nothing between the tackles."Yikes! That is not a glowing endorsement for the Bucs' 3rd round pick from 2014. With Doug Martin becoming such a mediocre back over the last couple of years, the Bucs need Sims to become the true feature back they seem to be lacking on their roster.The question will continue to float around Sims about whether he can be a true feature back or if he'll be relegated to a 3rd down role. As soon as Sims was drafted by the Bucs, I thought he was a 3rd down receiving back. Moving forward, I think the Bucs will need to continue to search for a more reliable back to run between the tackles and not force Sims into a role to which he doesn't fit.
