This a young team that isn't ready for a playoff run. All we can ask for is improvement every week and for the team to be competitive. Yes, it is frustrating that it was very winnable and we couldn't win it, but this is expected out of such a young team. Let's see how they bounce back against the Panthers next week. Some notes I made from the game:PositivesJames Winston - I thought the 1st half he looked VERY sharp. His INT was bad and he wasn't too accurate in the 2nd half, but he still played a better game than I expected. I thought the Texans were gonna force multiple turnovers from him with their pass rush. Drops made his stats look a lot worse than they should have been.O-line - They held their own for the most part against a very good defensive line. I was impressed. Run blocking could have been better, but they exceeded my expectations.NegativesReceivers - Wayyyyy too many drops. Evans looked rusty in his first game back at 100%. I think he'll be fine once he gets back in the groove. Murphy made big plays on that one drive, but I would like to see more consistency from him. V-Jax had a drop, guys like Sheppard and Humphries need to step up and make a play when they're on the field.Run defense - Letting Alfred Blue tear us up like that was unacceptable, especially with Mallett at QB. We needed to stuff Blue all game and let Mallett beat us.Lavonte David - Can't believe I have labeled this guy as a negative 2 of the first 3 weeks. 2 badddd missed tackles that both should have been TFL. He needs to step up and start making plays. We didn't pay him to be playing like he has been this year.Brindzga - Think I spelled his name wrong, but I could care less. Totally inexcusable performance by him and he played a huge role in this loss. If he makes his kicks, it's a tie game or at least a 1 score game (not expecting him to make 55+ kicks consistently).Refs- Not a part of the team, but I have to give a shoutout to this awful crew. Penalties were incredibly inconsistent throughout the game and a lot seemed to go in the Texans favor, ESPECIALLY holding calls. If we touched a Texans receiver, it was called defensive holding, while the Texans didn't get called all game for doing the same thing, if not worse. Saw multiple missed holds on the Texans o-line too.
