Will Aaron Rodgers walk away from a hundred million dollars and move to the next plane of his existence?  Don't be surprised if Rodgers retires like Max Birnbaum.  He's talking like he is seriously thinking about it, and he's the type of guy who marches to his own tune and could walk away from it all.

Not reasons he plays:  He's not going to be the guy who says he misses the locker room.  He doesn't have loyalty to the Packers.   Fame - he has enough of it.  He's not getting more famous by playing more.  If he retires, he'll still get plenty of media attention for his weird antics.

Reasons he could play:  More money, or just the loves to play football.

Reasons he could retire:  He has enough money.  He wants to do other stuff like sit in a sweat lodge with some Native Americans or hunt for truffles or get in a quilting club.  If you see that Rodgers is quilting, don't assume that "l" is a mistype.

If I have to make a prediction, I predict Aaron Rodgers will retire from football and never look back.

He should retire and start a Jim Jones style CULT.

He's gonna get traded to the Jets, then a year later retire and unretire, go to the Vikings, and throw a pick that sends the freakin' Saints to the Super Bowl again.

Spoiler
I hate you forever, Brett Favre.

unfortunately those that would be likely to join a cult have cancelled Rodgers for his anti big pharma pro choice stance

Rodgers would be a great fit in Seattle. No explanation needed.

Well now we know that Rodgers is definitely heading to the Jets, and the price is high for an NFL QB on the backside of his career. This just reiterates what a great deal the Bucs got by acquiring Brady as a FA. IMHO, the Jets will regret this trade, and the Packers will be partying all through the draft with those extra picks. Just saw that Rodgers will wear #8 rather than Joe Willy's #12. His agent probably dreamed that one up. I've never been a fan of Rodgers. I hope he flops in NY.

If jets get last year version of Rodgers or Russell Wilson part II, then yeah but honestly much like the Bucs, they have been helpless as a franchise and way to swing for the fences!

if they get Rodgers the past 5 years 2021 season, then they are better than buffalo

Dont understand the hate for Rodgers , he pretty much takes the heat for everything while the pack front office hides. And has acted much better than BF#4 ever did .

I don't hate Rodgers.  He's a character.  People think he's wierd, and he is, but he doesn't care what people think.  I wouldn't have been surprised if he called it quits, but good for the Jets.  They aren't giving up a first round pick for him.   if you boil it down, they are giving up two 2nd round picks and some change.  A small price to pay for a legit QB with a Superbowl ring on his finger. The Jets can get out of it with minor damage to the cap after a couple years ($16 mil dead cap hit after 2024 when they'll owe him about $50 mil salary+bonus).  The Jets did good here.

@catherder it’ll likely be a 1st next year, as long as he plays 65% of the snaps.

You are correct.  I misread it.  It does put the Jets in somewhat of a bind, because they give up that first-round pick and then have to decide whether to keep Rodgers around with the expensive contract after 2024.   That means they gave up the first rounder for a two year rental, but Rodgers is a proven commodity and even a first-round pick is not.

his stance on the covid vaccine likely off-put half the population...much like half the population would be offput by Colin Kaep; another half would be offput there and the average individual can't separate the player from their views.

Rodgers didnt play the best last year, but similar to Brady's down year; both of their numbers would have netted a Daniel Jones type $40M a year extension!

The Jets become a legitimate playoff contender in the tough AFC

the NFC looks real weak - looking like the Vikings, Eagles, Cowboys, Niners, and Rams and to lesser extent - Lions, Saints, Giants
