Warmack played great and I believe Cooper played good as well. Not sure if any guard is good enough this year to go top ten though.

Where you see OG , others see pass protecter.

quite possible, if you see the same value with a guy such as gabe jackson to say, aaron donald then great. I don't.

did cooper play a game? And while all reports say warmack played well, did he make a difference?

Well Cooper and Warmack both went top 10 last year. Could be a fluke, or could be the beginning of a trend. Probably too much talent at skill positions for a guard to go top 10 this year though.

true. Not sure either guy made an impact though.

yup one didnt play team still went 10-6, other did play and was horrible at that. Dont forget last year was one of the weakest classes in recent memory

I apologize Cooper did not play at all but Warmack wasn't that bad. i would take him on the Bucs. he will be a good lineman especially down the road.

Cooper was injured last year. Warmack came on strong to finish the season. Rookies thrown into starting arent going to be all pros, but both of those were good picks in my book...we shall see in a few years. LOL only on the Red Board do rookie stats mean so much...its a process.

With all these hybrid players nowadays you can't really define some of them to one certain position. I feel as though Donald is one of those players as well as Mack. They can play multiple positions and to some of us that seems like a negative but to some coaches that is a huge plus. I guess it all depends on what Lovie thinks and how creative he can be.

This ^I don't see Donald as a NT. He would be a 2nd UT in Lovie's system. The UT is the engine of this D. The value of the position is higher than in other systems. The D would finally be "fixed" with this pick. Spend the 2nd and 3rd on WR, G or TE.

+1.Donald would get plenty of reps. At LDE, and giving MJ a break at RDE. He would also be great next to McCoy on passing downs. Win win win.

I have no doubt that Warmack could be outstanding down the road, still you dont take an OG top 10. I mean draft nits were saying he was going to be an instant all pro, they've never seen movement like him. Still he struggled quite a bit as a rookie (Which is to be expected)Just showing that the impact of a guard has little on team success, Guard play can be countered with good blocking schemes and using center to help when needed. It comes down to coaching.

I have been scouting a LDE because of the hole we have there. Scott Crichton looks pretty good. Stephon Tuitt could be the 3rd best option but compared to Donald, they look very average. In other words there is a huge drop off in talent from Donald to Crichton.

I disagree. If the talent is there, you go get. Marky Mark Dominik tried out your thoery and it didnt go so well.

but not to change this completely I certainly wouldnt mind Donald one bit. JDub mentioned you can put him at LE on run downs, move him next to McCoy, have him give him breathers. I always value production over anything when it comes to pass rushers. Guys that usually can consistently get after the quarterback in college tend to do the same in the pros. When you see double digit sacks in multiple seasons, proves to me one of the years wasnt a fluke. When you see the players that usually bust out as high picks that are pass rushers, they usually dont have two years or more of production. In Donalds case he has 3 seasons with 16+ TFL

Mark tried out my theory? With who the world beater coaching staff of Raheem Morris? Oh no you must have meant Greg Schiano...come on
