Lol....yeah. What a lazy ass. He should chase those WRs and RBs with elite speed that are 20 yards downfield so he can be exhausted and miss the next snap. SMH. A smart lineman knows when to give chase and when to throttle back. Accusing Donald of being a loafer is a joke. Maybe there is a reason Steve White sucked as a player? 11 sacks in 7 years as a DE? Oh please tell me how to achieve your level of greatness Steve. Lolz.
LOL, yeah, definitely wouldn't want to listen to a guy who played and coached the game.

There are a few hundred guys on TV and the internet that have played and coached and they talk out their ass everyday for a paycheck when they have no idea what they are talking about half the time. Go look up Emmitt Smith's latest mock draft for exhibit A. Some people take their opinions as gospel, but I prefer to use my own brain and common sense to form opinions.Linebackers and defensive backs never stop chasing the ball carrier, but you think coach wants his 300lbs big men running 50 yards downfield after a RB they can never catch? The big men have to be smart.
Somehow I doubt Steve White is talking out of his ass for that big sbnation payday. He writes a glowing article about your favorite player, but you get irrationally emotional because of one point of criticism. The reason your brain didn't form the same opinion as he did is because they wouldn't include plays where he was loafing in the highlight packages you watched. In the actual games he watched, analyzing it as someone who actually has a remote clue as to what to look for, he pointed out this one flaw amidst a ton of positive analysis. I doubt it was a personal shot at you.
So he takes a play off here and there and, this one time, it cost him a shot at a qb sack. Whatever. DLs take plays off all the time, its tough to go 100% in the trenches all day. Donald makes plays when they are there to make, even at times when there is seemingly no play there to make. More than enough for me.

I posted youtube videos with every snap Donald played earlier in this thread. From his senior season. At least 5 of them. Watch them and draw your own conclusion. That is totally not what I saw on those tapes. Not saying I know this shit as well as Steve White, but that's not what I saw. I have no idea what Steve is counting as a loaf, but watch any NFL football game and tell me that defensive linemen are turning around and sprinting down the field when an intermediate/deep pass is thrown. I thought Donald had a good motor and was putting out nice effort even in games I watched where his team was out of it.
I watched the same 10 games on draftbreakdown.com that Steve did. They show every play, not just highlights. Don't believe me? Ask Steve. He has said on twitter that draftbreakdown.com is his main source of film. As far as Steve goes, he does write some good stuff. I enjoy a lot of his play by play breakdowns and opinions on what our d-line is doing during the season. For the most part it is good stuff. He does say some stupid ass things though and calling Donald a loafer is one of those things. Dude is about as non stop as it gets. His motor and effort are among his best attributes.
It's more that I don't think you're capable of being rational when it comes to your guys.

Calling him a loafer is a huge, huge stretch. Past being a stretch of opinion, it's untrue. Watch the videos Naismith and come back and say you think he's a loafer.
Donald reminds me of Lamarr Houston being a DT that can adjust to playing DE. I wouldn't take him at 7 but trading back with someone who wants Evans could be ideal.
Detroit @ 10 or maybe Tenn @ 11 if either gives us an xtra 3rd or 4th. Wouldnt want to risk dropping lower than that. Then we can use the next 3 picks on WRs and interior OL. Thats my 1a scenario atm.
That......... would be fantastic.
I have no idea if he's a loafer. From the section of the article I posted, I'd imagine I'd see a guy that busted his ass when the play was near him but when the play was not near him, his effort wasn't as high whistle to whistle. I was just adding that within the context of the Clowney/Donald discussion.

Maybe. I have been accused of that before so you are probably right. I see it more as me forming a strong opinion over time and sticking to my opinion. I don't let other peoples' opinions change what I saw with my own eyes. I will always listen to other opinions, but if someone has watched the same thing I watched and form a different opinion.....chances are I am sticking to my guns. If that comes off as bull headed or arrogant, than so be it. Truth is I am always up for a good debate but try to always leave my mind open to see other perspectives and be willing to change my view. Not just in football but in life. If we were sitting a table drinking beer and bull**CENSORED**ting about this stuff I think you'd have a different opinion of me, but there is no emotion in typing on a message board. I think people take me too seriously when I am often kidding around and be light hearted. Anyways, I am obviously in love with Donald as a prospect and I have watched all 10 games on draft breakdown several times and half a dozen full Pitt games on youtube. I never once saw Donald give up on a play when he should have been still giving chase. I'm not asking you or anyone else to believe me over Steve White....but for me personally I think the accusation of him being a loafer is way off.
This "draft season" has been soooo long and we still have two weeks to go! I hope they never do this again. I have had a lot of time though and I am probably even more set in opinions that most years. Manziel, Donald, and Landry are three guys that I absolutely love and at this point I'm not trying to hear any negatives about any of them. I am completely bullheaded and stubborn as a mule when it comes to those three. I can admit that. ;)
I like one of the three!

Also would not be opposed to packaging the xtra pick plus our second to move back into the first frame and select someone like Cooks, whom i am also super high on.Imagine a Donald and Cooks 1a and 1b draft. I'd pee myself! :P not to mention wed still have the 3rd rounder to address the OL.
