There’s a popular (if somewhat stupid) theory that has gone around for a number of years ever since the New York Knicks landed the number one pick in the 1985 draft: the whole thing is rigged.Why? Aside from the actual evidence (See: the Lakers vs. Kings series in 2002), nobody is ever satisfied when their team misses the playoffs and are apparently willing to indulge all kinds of ridiculous conspiracy theories in order to explain it.It seems Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans is no exception to the rule…Here’s what Evans had to say when he learned the Miami Heat would miss the playoffs:
While I can’t say I never thought about it (anyone who has seen the calls Kobe Bryant gets might have some reasonable doubt) I’m tired of hearing it. Like football, basketball is simply too complicated to rig in that sense.Also, somebody needs to tell Evans that nobody cares about the Heat anymore.link
