Time to focus on the fact that “no stone has been left unturned” and “we are doing our due diligence “ and tell the truth that even the lowest tier coach interviewed has zero interest in the OC job with Bowles. Perhaps Bowles should check into a high school coach. That’s the type offense he wants to run. And, BTW, where is the fourth estate on this unfolding embarrassment called an OC Coach search?

If they were not interested, they would not have agreed to be interviewed.

Agreed.  Bruce Arians came here before Brady was a twinkle in the Bucs eye.   He came here because of the respect for Jason Licht.  Monken also has previous experience with Licht.  Will that count for something?  We'll see.  But I don't think the Bucs are automatically relegated to the scrapheap of the NFL just yet.

Im sure they were waiting on Brady to make a decision as to what direction they are heading in

good be two different approaches with the GOAT and then perhaps a young inexperienced QB

Demeco Ryans just chose to be the head coach of the Texans...trust me no matter how bad we get (and we got the cornerstone pieces of Evans, Godwin, Wirfs) you can bet damn well whoever interviewed for the OC job wants it

@buccaneernw, please inform me of Bowles' illustrious career as a HC. I'd be interested to know why he should be the epitome of respect for his coaching prowess.

"Bowles' illustrious career as a HC"

There's no guarantee that a good DC or OC makes a good HC, completely different jobs so I assume that's why you framed it as you did, but man lets not all start pretending that Bowles is a BAD coach.  Most people who suggest that also WRONGLY viewed this past season's team as a legit SB contender. They were NOT.  Seems pretty clear the team was breaking down.

As to Bowles ability as an actual coach:

"“I think [Todd Bowles is] a really good coach,” Rodgers said then. “You can always tell, schematically, what coaches are the best based on how the league adjusts.”

Again, he may not be a good HC, but the team was ALWAYS  . . . always  . .  going give him the ACTUAL opportunity.  Fans might need to take a deep breath.   If he is a bad HC we will all get to see that in a season where he has more control (and hopefully more realistic expectations) and he will get FIRED and we will move on.

I am not a big fan myself of him as a HC, but open-minded because I know he did not drag down as SB contender lol

On Bowles as a HC, if you look at the Jets he took Ryan's 4 win team and basically turned it into 10 win just missing the playoffs.  The team goes down form there BUT the GM there, Managan, was hired BEFORE Bowles and this is what you can find out about him:

He served as general manager for the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL) from 2015 to 2019. He was notable for drafting Christian Hackenberg (considered an all-time draft bust) and having one of the worst draft records past the first round on of any general manager during this time period"

Anyway, if you look at that team, what Bowles did made sense.  He immediately focused on the defense and made them pretty dominate and he handed off the offense to Chan Gailey a guy who at the time was known for doing well with limited talent.

Again, didn't work and he might be a terrible HC with the Bucs next season, but might as well settle in!! Arians didn't really do Bowles a big favor but he's in the role now and the seat is already warm, so lets see how he handles it. Especially interested to see what they do at QB because they NEVER got that sorted with the jets

Schottenheimer is the new OC I’m Denver. Payton is building a solid staff. And, here in Tampa, Bowles is attracting….yeah, errrrr, yeah, Bowles is attracting NO ONE!!!!!

Might not be a bad thing.

One step closer to us moving on from him in 2024 and bringing in a new regime.

@donkey_hunter In theory I agree with you. But, the NFL is a violent sport and I am not willing to throw away a season after giving a known incompetent HC just to be “fair”.

Schotty is now the OC in Dallas, not Denver. He was an analyst there last year and promoted to OC, in title only.  McCarthy will be the play caller.

Broncos have yet to hire an OC under Payton. However....solid call. 😀

The “right coordinator” will be the one who is highly inexperienced and would never be able to threaten Bowles’ job. Expect bargain basement quality I.e. the guy from the Bengals. Never called a play, never ran an offense, never game planned. Yep, he’s our guy. Bowles would NEVER hire Monken. Too much of a threat because he is outstanding at what he does. The Bucs will rue the day they kept Bowles.

Man, lol.  That may be the result because of the circumstances, but why smear Bowles?

With each wasted passing day, the Bucs languish trying to find someone, anyone who is not a threat to Bowles' job. Also, we are inundated with stupid euphemisms, "Getting it right seems more important than getting it done quickly": "Due diligence"; blah blah blah...Bowles will opt for a coach with no NFL play calling experience, no leadership of an offense, nothing so the new OC looks incompetent...just like he is.
