I have to admit I find it odd they haven't found an OC yet. Most likely they announce their final decision after the Super Bowl. Because if this drags on for a bit longer that sends an early message that Bowles may be a lame duck even if Bowles ends up rebounding in year 2.
They could be waiting to speak with Brian Johnson of the Eagles staff.
At this point it's pretty obvious that they're mostly looking at OC's that have worked with and had success developing young QB's. Pretty much tells you they plan to either develop Trask or get another young QB to compete/take over. I also think they plan to interview Brian Johnson after the Super Bowl as well. I would suspect Johnson and Pitcher are the guys they most prefer. Pitcher is definitely in the driver's seat right now.
Monken hired by Ravens, right?
Arians didn't do the play calling - gave his input. Leftwich did all that. Brady had great seasons 2020, 2021. But the the crappy OL and no TE and a crappy #3, #4 WR, the team stunk - no OC could fix that garbage. Licht put that squad together. He brought injury prone Julio Jones here. He brought Kyle Rudolph here. You "fans" seem to throw players, coaches under the bus - no loyalty. The dude helped you win a SB.
leftwich was terrible. When left to his own devices (Tampa last year and Arizona) he was exposed.
that said, Bowles has been just as bad, and Licht/Glazers should have moved on. This is their mess for sure. I also think BA should take a lot of blame for not having a legitimate post Brady plan. BAs plan always seemed to be Blaine Gabbert…
They sold out to win last year. The problem wasn't the plan, it was the execution. We were all on board with doing what needed to be done to bring Brady back for one more year and take one more shot at the Superbowl. Nobody complained about it, but they just fell flat at doing it. They had no post-Brady plan. That's why they have no idea what they have in Trask right now. We're dealing with the aftermath of a Superbowl run that we didn't get. If we did get at least a decent season and a decent run in the playoffs we wouldn't be lamenting our current state of affairs, even though it would be the same. We bought a sports car that turned out to be a lemon. The car's gone, but we are still making the payments.Arians didn't do the play calling - gave his input. Leftwich did all that. It is not just the OC that needs to be replaced. Just about the all the offensive coaches need to be hired. The Bucs are going to get what's left after all the other teams fill out all their coaching needs. This is looking really bad.
Bienenmy is out there apparently, looking to get out from under Reid's shadow. Why wouldn't we go after him?
why would he come here?
Why would he leave Kansas City?
He just interviewED for the Washington Commander's OC job...you think that's a better team to go to?
Wow, so many of you are really stuck on the doom and gloom train. If Beinenemy is taking a call from the Commanders who also don't have a QB or much of a running game, why would he not take an interview with us?
@cerious I believe his contract is up. He can go anywhere he desires.
for a HC job
@crazyhorse54 I know that to be the case. He's obviously looking to get out from Andy Reid. If he can turn an offense around he'd be more likely to get a HC offer in a year or two. So why not the Bucs?
