I don't have a problem with McCarron as a mid-round prospect (although I'm not sure that's what the team needs), but I'm honestly confused as to why someone would think that he would blow things up at the combine. Senior Bowl? Ok, sure. Crazier things have happened. But I don't see how he'd be likely to be an exceptional combine performer.
I think McCarron would be a good 3rd round guy that you draft as a back up and maybe get surprised.
