Let the face-palming begin as we look at the cluster-eff of our 1st half 3rd and long defense.

(2:42) (Shotgun) M.Ryan pass short middle to A.Hooper to 50 for 14 yards (K.Alexander).
We're playing Big Nickel w/ 3 Safeties and a unique front (2 DL and JPP stand-up w/ Kwon and LVD pressing gaps). We drop into a version of Tampa 2 here w/ our new Safety, Andrew Adams, playing the role of turn-and-run MLB. The problem is, he is either clueless as to conceptually what he is trying to accomplish in this role, or the coaching that he received in these 2 weeks was awful.
He bails pre-snap and is sprinting to deep middle. What he is supposed to do is retreat with any vert routes that threaten that deep-mid-zone. Actually cover someone in his zone drop. Instead, he basically just allows the TE to run to the area he just vacated, hook up at the sticks, and run for 4 more (as he proceeds to take a bad angle afterwards as well).
This is crazy. How does this happen?
Everyone else actually does a good job w/ their Cover 2 responsibilities.
