I'm going to look at these two this week.
Vea was coming off the ball like we haven't seen him to date. He was penetrating, he was blowing guys off the ball, he was finishing, he was chasing plays from behind. Today was the sort of aggression, violence, and movement skills (at that size), and finish that was on his college tape. Light bulb came on? Playing different techniques? Encouraged to just get the hell up field and be violent (vs getting his hips/head where they need to be and shedding). I'm not sure. I'll take a closer look.
Jameis was under a lot of pressure today, and it wasn't just the right side of the line that was a sieve (Marpet's play has progressively gotten worse as the year has worn on...his play at Center last year was for certain better than his play at LG through these 11 games). Despite that, Jameis was fantastic in his pocket awareness, his rush evasion, and his decision-making. I'm going to take a closer look (my guess is it will be more impressive under the microscope).
