Absolutely, half this idiot fan base is still blaming Freeman for this season being crap.
HE was....look what he's doing to Minnesota.
He was never the sole reason this team started off 0-4, hell he wasn't even the reason the team started off 0-1. By the way, he isn't playing in Minnesota.
lol, think that was his point

Oh, I thought his point was he is losing games in Minnesota.
DoubleM never disappoints
Talent wise this is a 9-7 team max.
I disagree
what is that adage, something like 'you are what your record says you are'?
When the team was looking for a new HC after Raheem, everything that was reported from the media about who they were looking at and interviewing was wrong. The Chip Kelly deal wasn't revealed until the night he was suppose to sign. Then when that fell through, NO ONE, saw Schiano as the next head coach. Glazers are not a Jerry Jones owner where they need or crave media attention, they keep everything they do quiet and never reveal anything until they feel its time. The only statement they made this year about Schiano is that he was able to keep the locker room together. I really believe they didn't see the point in firing Schiano mid-season. They weighed all the options and him finishing out the season made the most sense. I also see them quietly discussing the position with Lovie Smith and you'll see him hired as the new head coach about a week after the Super Bowl. Just my hunch. What I'm 100% certain on though, is no matter who the HC is next year, most on here will complain about it and say how they would have hired so-and-so and how they know more than every front office in the league.
Nice post. And as far as my thoughts on the OP: I don't have a "sinking feeling". I'm strangely satisfied with watching this team develop from a personnel standpoint. There's a lot of interesting players on this team, and yes the coaching is very inadequate, but I still remember the Raheem years very strongly and thank God every Sunday we're not still there.TL:DR I'm OK with whatever happens at this point. It's out of my hands anyway.Preemptive disclaimer: Yes, Raheem was worse than Schiano. Those teams were literally *unwatchable*. There are other threads for that discussion.

Instead of Thanking God on Sundays that were not with Raheem, maybe you should be asking him why we still suck.Your bar has been lowered by Morris and Dominik.

Maybe my OP was a tad too "lyrical" for your tastes.Yes, we are still losing and yes, there are many issues on the team. My points were a) I'm a patient and naturally optimistic person and as such b) I'm getting plenty of enjoyment out of watching the current team compete, lose and develop than I did during Raheem's or the majority of Gruden's tenure. Where I will side with the anti-Schiano side is that yes, another coaching staff could undoubtedly get better results from this team. However, we haven't had a stable of genuinely talented players who have the potential to form an exceptional team since the Dungy era and, as a result, the early Gruden era. In that regard I believe Schiano and Dominik have done well, despite their many, MANY flaws.

you realize you're on the Red Board, right?(j/k but unusual to see a reasonable perspective on here)
Will anything change in Atlanta? They have the same record... Unless Sullivan goes to a HC position, I don't see a change this off-season. Next year, if Schiano doesn't get our offense clicking, I think he'll find himself in the same hot water as Dungy did...
Yeah something will change. They will have an All Pro Wide Receiver back, who's been out most of this year.
So Julio Jones being out half the season is the reason they went from being 1 pass away from the super bowl last season to competing for the #1 overall pick this season?
May be hard to believe but you see that their O is totally different without him. We will see the difference when he comes back, but that's what I say now.
Kind of fell like I'm in the same situation as a Florida fan and a Bucs fan. Defensive minded hard a$$ coach who is going to be scapegoated by the injury card and a new offensive coordinator. Both because the boys at the top thing he "has drive" or some crap like that.Josh Freeman costing us Chip Kelly still sucks to this day.I really would like an offensive minded coach going forward.
