Aside from Tom Brady he's had the biggest impact for the Patriots. Anyone who denies this simply doesn't know football or is just hating. It didn't work out here for various reasons. But Talib has ALWAYS been long on talent and Belicheck is reaping the benefits of his great talent.

Talking about Talib saying he hasn't felt like he had been in the NFL til the Patriots. Started under Gruden. If Talib is so great why did the rest of the NFL including the Patriots not sign him to long term deal last year? He is a bad risk! Especially coming off a drug suspension and being investigated for shooting at his sisters ex boyfriend. There is a lot revisionist history going on about Talib and Blount for that matter. Sometimes the first teams that gets a troubled player is at disadvantage some players don't get it until there last chance. The only way Bucs could have kept Talib was a long term big money deal and that wasn't going to happen. Should or could Blount had a role on this team...yes, is Mike James and Bobby Rainy more complete backs than Blount...yes! Look - It works both ways. I can't go back a raise Talib. He was a complete dou*he when he was here but for two years he was as good as any player we had. I realize we couldn't keep him but if another coach, say Dungy, was here we never would have had these issues. Denying his talent demonstrates how little any of detractors know about the game of football. There is a reason the best coach in football was tripping over himself to get to the phone to pick up Talib.

He's gotten the credit because he's deserved it. Watch the games. All of this "top 5 player" stuff is for the fans. What a player does individually is fine and dandy but if it doesn't equate to team success or at least success of the unit it's irrelevant. What he does for the Pats is extremely important to them. Without him they aren't in the AFC Championship game.
