If Talib signed with us, he'd no longer be the #1 CB. Playing against lesser WRs might reduce his injury issues. If Lovie lays down the law before we signed him, I'd be fine with it...

That makes no sense. Are you saying that he wont be trying 100% every play and will adjust how much he tries based upon how he feels he matches up against a "lesser" WR? Also, even if he were the #2 CB, he wouldn't be on a certain player the entire game. There will be some coverages where he stays on a certain side of the field and could very well be matched up against the best WR for a certain # of plays.

He's the best cover corner in the league when healthy.

Talib ?  Surely you jest.

Wasn't that where the dog walking him all over the field quote came from?  I believe it was.

He's got a rough history with Tampa. I think its best for the player and the team that they are in different directions.

i get but people change and i think he's one that has really become a PRO after seeing how it's done in a winning organization..

After watching his game against Steve Smith last season and how he was getting burned over and over and the way he reacted I'm not convinced all that much has changed with him.

Have you watched him play at all since he left Tampa?

He still gets burned. Very Jekyll and Hyde. He isn't close to the level of the Joe Haden/Patrick Petersons of the NFL.

Lazy announcers never did their due diligence when talking about Talib during pats games. I hated it when the slobbed on this guy during games like he was an elite corner. He isn't. Not even close. And when he gets rattled he turns into a worthless thug.

Talib had his low moments here no doubt, but the guy was always very competitive when facing Roddy White and Steve Smith and held his own against them. With NE he seemed to play with that competitive spirit every game and also magically played with a proper technique consistently, something he never did in Tampa. Despite the other issues he's had I would be happy to see him back in Tampa for the right price. But chances are, he would like to play for winners and it is that environment and prime time attention that makes him give 100% every game. So not happening.
