I was an ok basketball player. played through jr. high. and was good enough to make the high school team but didn't go out because I hated the coach. but spent countless hours playing in driveways or on the courts. might not have been a superstar but I didn't embarrass myself either. in college me and some other guys were shooting hoops in the gym and ended up in a pick up match against some members of the girls team. I cant tell you how thoroughly they kicked our asses.

I'm of the mindset that genetics will prevent many females from playing at the NFL level at positions other than kicker/punter, but I'd love to be proven wrong in that regard.Put the best 53 on the field. It's a simple biological fact. Men and women are built differently. On average most women can not match what a man does physically. They can't build as much muscle mass without taking male hormones.

This exact topic was brought up in a sociology class I once took. One woman in the class took issue with my stance that it's lunacy to even consider the idea. I was a "sexist" in her eyes. I simply pointed to the combine, I asked her how many women she knew that could bench press 225 lbs even a single time. That alone doesn't determine whether you can make it in the NFL or not, but it does show that standards would have to be lowered in terms of how you evaluate a player. That fact alone proves how absurd this discussion really is. If we ignored the clear difference in physical stature between men and women, and allowed a handful of women to play in the NFL with a set number of snaps guaranteed each game I'm not exaggerating when I say that I believe every single one of them would suffer horrific, life altering injuries before the season wrapped up.Kicker or punter? Sure. The kicker on my high school team was a female, the sister of a guy on my soccer team actually. But that's where it ends.

Even as a kicker/punter they probably couldn't make it. I could see a girl maybe being a backup QB on a college team though. Pretty sure that a girl could do what AJ McCarron did in college. Sit back pretty with 5 seconds to throw and hit a wide open receiver after only making one read.

I wish it was a girl, at least then her views could be disregarded as naive. It was actually a woman, an older woman that looked to be in her mid to late 40's. Her appearance suggested she had equal admiration for both men and logic.

Kicker maybe. There already are several pretty good female kickers scattered around the country.The rest of the positions, I can't see it. On a related note, back in 2012 the Marine Corp opened up their Infantry Officer Course to female applicants for the first time ever. Since then, 14 females have attempted to pass the course, and not one has succeeded.
