The bad player evaluation goes beyond Dirk and Licht. Our team has had bad draft after bad draft, busted high picks after busted high picks for years.

As football fans, what's the one thing we know least about? The thing never reported about or talked about? One of the most important parts of any team that we don't know names, backgrounds, track records or results about?

Scouting.

What does the average Scouting department look like? How many scouts per region or per state does the average team have? How many high schools or colleges does each scout have responsibility for?

Why do some teams constantly draft well with different GM's and HC's? Why do some teams constantly draft poorly with different GM's and HC's? Do the Ravens and Steelers have 15 scouts assigned to the Southwest region and we have 2? Maybe 3? How many? Do the Packers and Patriots have 20 scouts assigned to the Northeast region? How many do we have?

We keep hearing about how the Glazers are cheap, yet there is no evidence of that with the money they are willing to throw away on fired HC's. Maybe all the money they save is in the Scouting department?

As a Kansas City resident and Royals fan, I can tell you the single biggest reason the Royals hadn't been to a World Series in 30 years was because of the farm system being so under staffed, under funded and many of the baseball regions uncovered by scouts our farm teams. That was the first thing Dayton Moore fixed when he became GM and it took 5 years to fix it and a few years for it to show results.

Are the Glazers being cheap? Do they even know whether or not their Scouting department is where it needs to be? Our lack of success save for 1997-2002 goes way beyond coaches and GM's.

How do we stack up against the rest of the League in an area we are never told anything about?
