@seekpar The Bucs have been horrible all season. We've lost to some awful teams and struggled to beat some other awful teams. We were handled by the few decent teams we played. I mean, with Brady and on any given Sunday, sure anything is possible. There's no reason to feel good or optimistic about this team though.
Feeling positive about the matchup with the Cowpukes next week! It’s the week after I’m concerned about.
What have you seen to make you think they are Super Bowl threat ?
average football team at best
Do you think the 2020 was some sort of juggernaut in the regular season?
-At one point they were 7-5 with three consecutive home losses.
-Lost by 35 to the Saints
-And the team just didn't flip the switch after the bye week. We got lucky vs the Vikings (Dan Bailey missed 3 FGs and an XP and we got a BS pass interference on a hail mary).
-Down 0-17 at half time vs the 4-9 Falcons.
- Was in a dog fight in the playoffs vs a 7-9 team
But what that team had was some momentum. Bowles killed that today.

There are plenty examples of teams who were struggling in the regular season, put some wins together at the end of the season, barely make the playoffs and make a run. The only team this team had was to keep that momentum. Brady lost to one in a Super Bowl.

You went from suggesting this team is just like the 2020 team but Bowles killed their momentum to . . . "there are examples of teams making a run."
Its that kind of shuffling that makes you a troll :-)
I don't think a team with a losing record has ever won the super bowl? I think a few 9-7 teams have.
JC you definitely make some good points that the 2020 team was doubted all year. 7-5, shit Vikings kicker, down big to the falcons but went 4-0 down the stretch.
the difference of course is that that team had Gronk, healthy Jensen, not as insane Antonio Brown, Marpet, JPP, Suh, and Shaq Barrett. Said another way, much more talented on paper.
and I wanted to finish with a winning record more than anyone (hence this thread) but given the diminished talent, could you have imagined if Godwin, Vea, Wirfs, etc got hurt today for trying to “keep momentum”.
I’m just saying it would have been great to win. I think we can go on a run but we need a lot to go right.
If we get anyone but niners in second round, I could see us in nfc champ.
yeah the giants did it in 2011 at 9-7
that was my point that 9-8 just the perception seems better but I guess don’t want to risk injuries in a meaningless game. See chargers today with Mike Williams

It’s hilarious how you cry “straw man” every chance you get, only to act like the biggest hypocrite this board has ever seen.
He never once said, or implied, that this was the same team.
He brought up a very legit point that this team is going in to the playoffs with issues. Just like the 2020 team did.

QUESTION: "What have you seen to make you think [the current team] are Super Bowl threat ?
JC's Answer:
Do you think the 2020 was some sort of juggernaut in the regular season? -At one point they were 7-5 with three consecutive home losses. -Lost by 35 to the Saints

DH, he is LITERALLY . . . wait for it . . .. IMPLYING that the two teams are similar by answering a question about this team with an answer that COMPARES them to the 2020 team to team and that IMPLIES that the DIFFERENCE is just MOMENTUM ("But what that team had was some momentum. Bowles killed that today.")
THAT TEAM had momentum? Uh okay . . and a SHIT TON MORE TALENT and better coaching.
Look, I would say you cant f--g read, but you can. Its just that you agree with JC. You have posted here earlier that this team is 10-2 with Arians at the helm and you resist any suggestion that there is a TALENT GAP as a significant cause of the teams struggles because AGAIN you buy into the notion that this team is "very talented." The POINT of the question to which JC responds is LITERALLY that it is NOT, so the comparison right back to 2020 as an answer is to IMPLY they are similar. . . but for MOMENTUM, no less
You're certainly entitled to disagree with that point of view, but no need to go all BUGGSY lmao . . .everyone wants the Bucs to win.
The Bucs are catching the Cowboys apparently playing poorly so they have a chance, but if the Bucs lose how many of the people here who beat the COACHING drum all season will say it wasn't talent that caused the Bucs to lose, it was that Bowles killed the momentum?
LOL, the nature of football fans

These are fair points, although I disagree about the momentum thing. There were people on this forum calling for the team to rest their starters, and I said that was a bad idea. At least Bowles went in playing his starters, something a guy like Dungy wouldn't/didn't do. With Evans not playing and Hainsey getting hurt, I don't blame Bowles for pulling Brady (and the remaining offensive starters) almost at halftime. They didn't get the day off.
If Brady gets hurt because some back up is on the line . . the SAME PEOPLE crying about momentum now . . fly off the handle at the "stupidity" of Bowles for not resting Brady
Football fan 101
less talent for sure but good god the play calling was painfully too predictable which put the offensive at a huge disadvantage
SR would get attacked on the Red Board. LOL
In his Fab 5 he says he wants Bowles back and in discussing Bowles he said this about this season:
"Now, it hasn’t always gone according to plan. There have been some really frustrating losses this year as injuries and the roster turnover from the 2021 team that went 13-4 have left the 2022 Bucs less talented than most expected they would be."
YIKES
He does try to with the RB back though. He advocates for Monken as the next OC and in that article quotes pass-friendly Monken as saying . .
"So, Monken knew he had to run the ball in the SEC. But he opened up the offense by incorporating more passing on first downs (sound enticing?) and more play-action (sound good, Tom Brady?) to perfectly meld the passing game and the running game, which pleased Smart and has complemented Georgia’s dominant defense over the years.
“Believe me, when I’m thinking gameplan-wise, I’m thinking about how we can be explosive — and how we can run the ball and help us be explosive all fits together,” Monken was quoted in The Athletic. “You can’t control the game if you can’t run the ball comfortably. You can’t. You can’t control the game. You can have a bunch of statistics and make it look better and make you feel better. But if you can’t run the ball comfortably you can’t win the game. And that’s from a guy that likes to throw it. My whole background is wideouts and quarterbacks. So I do want to throw it, I enjoy throwing it.”
I don't know though, Monken seems to think there is a correlation between running and passing . . .
