I have a question: besides Brady and Mayfield, how many other QBs has Mike Evans played with in his career?
Baker is his 6th.
Josh Freeman
Mike Glennon
Jameis Winston
Ryan Fitzmagic...err...Fitzpatrick
Tom Brady
Baker Mayfield
In that order. He hits 1000 yards every year no matter the QB or the offense.
Freeman never played with Evans.

Correct. It was Josh McCown that started the majority of Evans' first season, not Josh Freeman.
Based on that STAGED video posted today Baker may not have a signed contract, but to use an Amazon reference the contract is in the cart and it's just a matter of pressing the yellow button. Not that the emotions aren't real, but this was an event that could have been done without a camera if they wanted to keep it on the down low. If there was any shopping around it's been shopped already. No self-respecting agent would let a free agent QB anywhere near the team facilities if they were still negotiating with other teams. And here Baker is hugging the OC at the team facility like he's coming over to his house for the Superbowl party. Can any Trask supporter here point to an actual article saying the team is happy with him? I thought — could be wrong- that the new OC mentioned Mayfield and Wolford, but not Trask?
Genuinely asking because a genuine belief in Trask would change the dynamic with Mayfield, but that does not seem to be the case at all. They brought in a Mayfield-approved OC
Woolford is also a Coen guy. So that leaves Trask with third prize which we know what that means - Trade. If I'm Trask I'm asking for one, but I don't think he'll need to ask. He's worth a late round pick, perhaps Carolina would want him because he knows the offense. but the Bucs won't want to help out Canales. So for that reason I don't think they'll cut Trask loose without a trade. They don't want him to end up on a division rival if they can help it.
I think if they can get a trade for seldom-used, former 2nd round pick (that may have been drafted at least a round too early) they’ll take it from any who offer.
He could be offered a cap-friendly contract that reflects his current contribution. Not likely, but he may prove some value. It’s not like he didn’t push Baker…
See, I can play nice.
Apparently, some rumors in DEN that Baker might be their target for QB. Just local media postulating, according to a buddy of mine in Denver, but they're beginning to surface.

I've read numerous rumors Payton wanting to do whatever it takes to get within striking distance of Williams, Maye, or Daniels.
Also read a few regarding MT and Winston reuniting with Sean (which would make more sense from a cap perspective and familiarity).
Don't doubt it, I think Pittsburgh may also be in that camp (and ATL and NE).
If you have a solid defense, a good o-line with some WR talent...you want a QB that gives you a fighting chance. It helps that Ballerz has a couple of playoff wins.
Freeman never played with Evans.
Crap...you're right. I was thinking 2013 was Evan's rookie year. Doh!
Mayfield didn't have the resumes Carr or Tannehill had when they signed their deals. This is another example of the Mayfield delusion. Carr is still better than Mayfield
Derrick Carr... 142 games ... 0-1 playoff record
Tannehill...155 career games .... 2-3 playoff record
Mayfield...86 games... 2-2 playoff record
Exactly where on God's green Earth does either one possess a better resume?
you are arguing with a person who thought Luke McCown was the answer, a guy who thought trask was the answer
the motto: “we haven’t see them play, so yadda yadda yadda”
It’s almost like he must have been third string QB in high school who never got over it to have this kind of thinking and dedication to JAGS back up quarterbacks
After benching McCown before the Falcons game even started the Bucs went 3-17 in their next 20 games with 5 different QBs. You guys still talk about this over a decade later like I wasn't right.
how did McCown do from that point?
dude hilarious. I could only imagine if other teams fans stumbled across this board
“dude Buc fans think Luke McCown and Kyle Trask are the answer!”

DEN is in a pretty bad hole in terms of their cap situation, so my guess is there'll be a lot of rumors flying about all sorts of scenarios. My buddy was trying to explain to me how they could come up with the space to offer Baker $33.5 million AAV, which involves trading players like Jeudy, cutting/trading Wilson, restructuring the likes of Bolles, McGlinchey, Singleton and Zach Allen, etc. and so on. A lot of horse trading. But apparently they could go from being $22 million (I think that's right) over the cap, to about $39 million under.
Whatever. I think the thing to take away from that is that it would take a serious effort by DEN to even be in the conversation for Baker at this point. They'd have to move a lot of pieces around to make a deal happen, so they'd have to be all-in on Baker, and they'd have to make that decision pretty quickly. I guess if we see a bunch of dominoes start falling in DEN we'll know they're really interested.

If they were to move all these pieces to free up cap room, I would think it would be to land Cousins (assuming he's healthy), as he's the best FA QB out there this offseason. For cap purposes, I could see them moving for a cheaper vet like Jameis (the Payton connection) and only on a 1-year deal.
Otherwise, I would think they'd be positioning themselves to draft their future QB (Nix or Penix if they don't move up).

I don't think Cousins is on their radar. Cousins is projected to get $45 million/yr AAV; too rich for DEN by quite a bit, or so I've heard. If DEN goes after a FA QB, they'll be looking at guys that are in the mid-$30 million/yr range at most, or at least that's what I've been told.
I should confess at this point that I'm a cap moron. I have no idea how GMs do what they do. I'm still totally confused about how Veach managed to re-sign Chris Jones to a 4-yr/$80 million deal a few years ago when the Chiefs were literally $177 under the cap that season.
Holy moly. I just saw that MIA might be interested in Baker now? That's gotta be pure speculation. Didn't they just exercise his 5th year option?

I'm sure the Chiefs will be banging down the door next.

Lol, never happen. Andy always picks some rehab project, see Chad Henne, Blaine Gabbert, etc. More likely to sign Mac Jones as our backup.

Yes, when he was drafted, BA and JL both said that they saw a kid with arm talent. Possible deceptively mobile…no scrambler, but a complete statue bc, there…can pick up a first down in a pinch. Arm strength was good but not elite. I was honestly looking forward to Trask develop into a nice classic pocket passer for us. Then that changed when I watched the Iggles game. I hope everyone wins, except our enemies, the other 31 teams in the NFL.
So when he was drafted BA said he had an accurate and alive arm, and was smart, but a quiet* leader type, that’s at least one piece I can recall of the top of my head in the days following his draft.

vincent Jackson rip signed a 5 year deal with 55,555,555.55, it’s was kind of symbolic given that we had just drafted number 5. Did he even last 5 years in the league, freeman that’s is?
