Mayfield didn't have the resumes Carr or Tannehill had when they signed their deals. This is another example of the Mayfield delusion. Carr is still better than Mayfield

Derrick Carr... 142 games ... 0-1 playoff record

Tannehill...155 career games .... 2-3 playoff record

Mayfield...86 games... 2-2 playoff record

Exactly where on God's green Earth does either one possess a better resume?

you are arguing with a person who thought Luke McCown was the answer, a guy who thought trask was the answer

the motto: “we haven’t see them play, so yadda yadda yadda”

It’s almost like he must have been third string QB in high school who never got over it to have this kind of thinking and dedication to JAGS back up quarterbacks

After benching McCown before the Falcons game even started the Bucs went 3-17 in their next 20 games with 5 different QBs. You guys still talk about this over a decade later like I wasn't right.

how did McCown do from that point?

Mayfield is going to be offered money similar to his skill set and the team is still happy with Trask.  It is not the end of the world of the Bucs lose Mayfield because

Definitely not the be of the world but it’s a continued retooling then because Evans is likely gone too.

which brings us to the comment about Trask.  I wish that you are right, but where did you get that? PR reported the opposite and I think the OC even left him out of his press conference? Maybe not, I just don’t see any mention. Genuinely curious

Can any Trask supporter here point to an actual article saying the team is happy with him? I thought — could be wrong- that the new OC mentioned Mayfield and Wolford, but not Trask?

Genuinely asking because a genuine belief in Trask would change the dynamic with Mayfield, but that does not seem to be the case at all. They brought in a Mayfield-approved OC

Oh and holy moly this thread is On FIRE.  It was like at 6 or 7 pages last night, and its at 11.  SUmone mentioned PolarIzing somewhere.  This is jUst another example of Inconsistency Ballerz faces.  Is it his faUlt he's polarIzIng?  Is he doIng it on pUrpose.  Or is it his contextual circumstances that set the stage?  Which side do U CHUSE????  I KNOW whIch SIde Im on.  That is all.

hes polarizing because of his past and his inconsistent play this year

With a small but very vocal Gator Trask contingent here the RB is probably more polarized then maybe the total population of Bucs fans.

Winston was very polarizing too. Not coincidence.

The Prose, simple and concise (gotta work on that mIself) and best of all...delightfUl.  GJ.

Nice hit on Winston.  So Polarizing UFOJOE got on His UFO and Flew off never to be seen again.  He couldn't survive EATING the "Second Woman" plate of crow.  Never seen a meltdown like that on any board in mI life.  And unfortunately, he didn't have anyone here to call a friend.  You know, their was a time when I almost joined him in his "boycott" of Winston, it was when he had the Uber incident.  In retrospect, I wish I had joIned him sooner.  If he still lurks (doubtful), Mea Culpa.

you and me, both.

Every once in awhile, mostly the off-season, I miss ol joe. Never knew where he was going, but it sure was…polarizing.

Based on that STAGED video posted today Baker may not have a signed contract, but to use an Amazon reference the contract is in the cart and it's just a matter of pressing the yellow button.  Not that the emotions aren't real, but this was an event that could have been done without a camera if they wanted to keep it on the down low.  If there was any shopping around it's been shopped already.  No self-respecting agent would let a free agent QB anywhere near the team facilities if they were still negotiating with other teams.  And here Baker is hugging the OC at the team facility like he's coming over to his house for the Superbowl party.

Woolford is also a Coen guy.  So that leaves Trask with third prize which we know what that means - Trade. If I'm Trask I'm asking for one, but I don't think he'll need to ask.  He's worth a late round pick, perhaps Carolina would want him because he knows the offense. but the Bucs won't want to help out Canales.  So for that reason I don't think they'll cut Trask loose without a trade.  They don't want him to end up on a division rival if they can help it.

Doubt “Ballerz” (I like that, think I’ll use it), will blow up everything he’s just done in an effort to extort the Glazer’s cash…and Jack-up our cap.

He will, of course, sign for more money than the TraskForce thinks he’s worth…probably LOTS more…which will tickle me to no end.

By the way, so will ME… position-ally speaking, and of the two of them, that should concern those worried about the Glazers money - and the TraskForce posing as cap guru’s.

It’s already done. No one went looking for Kyle Trask’s OC, they didn’t run the candidates by Kyle for input. so, sadly, the Trask era is over before it has begun.

That’s ok, I remember saying the same dumb things about Jerry Golstein…you all deserve to learn in your own headspace. It’d be less polarizing if you did learn…but then, you could never generate 10 pages on a fan site talking about Jerry Goldstein, could you?

Well, I guess some of us could…

I have a question:  besides Brady and Mayfield, how many other QBs has Mike Evans played with in his career?

Baker is his 6th.

Josh Freeman

Mike Glennon

Jameis Winston

Ryan Fitzmagic...err...Fitzpatrick

Tom Brady

Baker Mayfield

In that order. He hits 1000 yards every year no matter the QB or the offense.

Freeman never played with Evans.

Correct.  It was Josh McCown that started the majority of Evans' first season, not Josh Freeman.

I think if they can get a trade for seldom-used, former 2nd round pick (that may have been drafted at least a round too early) they’ll take it from any who offer.

He could be offered a cap-friendly contract that reflects his current contribution. Not likely, but he may prove some value. It’s not like he didn’t push Baker…

See, I can play nice.

Apparently, some rumors in DEN that Baker might be their target for QB.  Just local media postulating, according to a buddy of mine in Denver, but they're beginning to surface.

I've read numerous rumors Payton wanting to do whatever it takes to get within striking distance of Williams, Maye, or Daniels.

Also read a few regarding MT and Winston reuniting with Sean (which would make more sense from a cap perspective and familiarity).

@feelindangerous06

Don't doubt it, I think Pittsburgh may also be in that camp (and ATL and NE).

If you have a solid defense, a good o-line with some WR talent...you want a QB that gives you a fighting chance. It helps that Ballerz has a couple of playoff wins.

Crap...you're right. I was thinking 2013 was Evan's rookie year. Doh!

DEN is in a pretty bad hole in terms of their cap situation, so my guess is there'll be a lot of rumors flying about all sorts of scenarios.  My buddy was trying to explain to me how they could come up with the space to offer Baker $33.5 million AAV, which involves trading players like Jeudy, cutting/trading Wilson, restructuring the likes of Bolles, McGlinchey, Singleton and Zach Allen, etc. and so on.  A lot of horse trading.  But apparently they could go from being $22 million (I think that's right) over the cap, to about $39 million under.

Whatever.  I think the thing to take away from that is that it would take a serious effort by DEN to even be in the conversation for Baker at this point.  They'd have to move a lot of pieces around to make a deal happen, so they'd have to be all-in on Baker, and they'd have to make that decision pretty quickly.  I guess if we see a bunch of dominoes start falling in DEN we'll know they're really interested.
