According to an article by SR - deadline would to have a contract signed before noon on March 11th.And, with the proposed contract highlighted
Sorry if posted already, but can anyone offeror confirm the timeline on all of this?
If Licht takes our own FAs off the market BEFORE free agency that would be before March 13th? Or, actually a couple days before because there is the legal tampering period?
When is the deadline to franchise tag someone? Also March13?
Even though he's reportedly working to re-do Wirfs contract, Wirfs is under contract so sort of exempt from the deadlines except to the extent Licht ties all of these together for budgeting purposes?
Thats the reason for a window to get into the playoffs, and as you said previously: once there, anything can happen.Who in the NFC South fits that window, now?
No one made that claim.
Honestly the NFC is weak but there’s 1 clear leader in the 49ers who were a few plays away from losing to the packers and lions in the playoffs.
next is the eagles and cowboys and you saw what we did to the eagles
detroit had a good year but again they are beatable
its hard to see the Bucs as NFC champs but that’s just because the last 2 years despite making the playoffs have been a .500 squad
they have a brutal schedule this year. If they can manage 11 wins that would show me this team has a chance and has found something.
And the schedule is brutal, we’ll definitely need all our weapons playing at a high level, every week.
Sorry if posted already, but can anyone offeror confirm the timeline on all of this?
The tag is due prior to 4pm EST on March 5th.
Legal Tampering Period starts 12pm on March 11th until 4pm on March 13th.
Executed contracts can begin after that.
Honestly the NFC is weak…
Agreed.
49’ers and Lions are the “Contenders”.
Then I’d put the Cowboys and Eagles in the next tier.
Last one would be Packers, Rams, Bucs
Obviously, draft and FA can change this.
Only adding this because of the way it explains/justifies the value AND the reason to wait on finalizing deals (ie to learn where the market will fall):
"League sources believe Baker Mayfield will sign a contract in the area of $40 million annually, though no official offers have been made right now.
Jordan Love, Tua Tagovailoa, and Brock Purdy will eventually sign deals over the next 12-15 months that will make Mayfield’s contract “look like a bargain.”
Baker “on top of falcons wishlist “ per Bucs nation
Wait, I just heard ATL’s top FA/QB is Kirk Cousins…Baker “on top of falcons wishlist “ per Bucs nation
Seems to be some dissent in the media.
Of course, it’ll probably be refuted by some knuckleheads because it’s just a Bucs Nation, report…

No way that gets refuted.
Here on the Red Board, we have it on good authority that Baker is the top, premier, sought-after FA QB according to the National Media.
The source is super honest, trustworthy, and never makes things up.
So good that we’re all in the right track…

Ironically, if we are posting about the same Bucsnation report . .
Its actually a Gill Arcia* piece citing Tony Pauline. Thats relevant because Pauline's first report about a $40 million contract for Mayfield is the impetus for this thread.
I think that means we have may some inconsistent reactions to Mr. Pauline lol.
His work is apparently worthy of a freak out when it's about Mayfield paid by the Bucs, but questionable when its about another teams desire for Mayfield?
(*he actually says a Justin Field trade would be the Falcons first priority but Mayfield would be the first FA if that dindt work out)
My QB carousel predictions
Chicago - Caleb Williams
commanders - Jayden Daniels
new England - drake Maye
Vikings - Kirk cousins
broncos - JJ mccarthy
Bucs - baker mayfield
Steelers - Russell Wilson
Raiders - Bo Nix
falcons - Justin fields
seahawks - Michael Penix (Geno enters as starter)
really only see the falcons, commanders and Steelers as competition for baker when you think about it. Washington should go with a draft pick but look who they selected as head coach so 🤷♂️
That being said, Baker will get market value in the 25-30m range

These would be the smart moves, while Minnesota is likely the wildcard…I guess Chicago could be too, and end up keeping keeping Fields…but less likely. My QB carousel predictions

Agreed. Just like Kirk’s torn ACL.
Wait. His second torn ACL.
My bad. His 2nd torn Achilles.
Nevermind. It was only his 1st torn Achilles.
Like I said, our source here on the Red Board is legit and honest!

it’s not that your belief in Kirk Cousins being a great option for the Bucs is silly, it’s just that, like me, so much of what you think you know about him, just isn’t so, anymore.
