Congrats, Bucs fans. Looks like a pretty good deal to me.
I guessed around 3 yrs/$105 million back when all this started; was about $2.5 million/yr off, lol.
If your FO fixes the IOL, finds a burner type RB to run with White, a couple good secondary pieces maybe through the draft, I feel pretty good about seeing you guys in the NFCCG in 2024.
Good luck!!!
nice call @Badabing!Could I see 3 years 100 million. Yes but that’s absolute highest at 33.3m APY
his floor is likely the 3 year 75 million and as DH said likely looking at 3 year 90 million as ballpark
I'm happy for Baker as well, finally got that big money that 1st overall normally gets
I saw him in his 3rd game as walk-on in Lubbock, noone could assume that back than. Then I saw him (on TV) beating Mahomes in that crazy college game, and I thought getting any of them would be great. Now we've got him, not too excited but happy for him and we've got decent solution until we find someone better! All fine. Let's help Mike get another 1000+ yds and if division stays as it recently was, let's get into playoffs once again!
I'd give him 3yr/$90M (with an AAV of $30M...which would also be incentive laden).
I'd guarantee $45M-$50M.
It would most likely give us a 2 year look at him where we can extend him after Y2 or ditch him if he reverts back to dogshit with a minimal dead cap hi
DH, you were right on it too.

Mayfield was 13th in the NFL in Air Yards in 2019 with a QB rating 72.9 on those deep passes. Some dude's list aside, this isn't a "wheelhouse" for any QB. Per the usual, the loon has absolutely no idea what he's talking about.
Shameless and clueless: it's one helluva combo.
"some dude's list" strikes again (with the extra comedic gold thrown in):
"Mayfield played a huge share of long ball. Many laymen knew that without the benefit of NextGen stats, as Mayfield ranked second in the NFL in completions of 40 yards or more and sixth in completions of 20 yards or more."

Saw this earlier, snorted to myself…
Mayfield played a huge share of long ball. Many laymen knew that without the benefit of NextGen stats, as Mayfield ranked second in the NFL in completions of 40 yards or more and sixth in completions of 20 yards or more."
And, the part Joe conveniently left out…
“Despite historically having a quality deep ball, Mayfield struggled with connecting with his receivers 20+ yards deep.
He was just 22 of 74 (29.7%) for 744 yards with nine touchdowns and four interceptions on deep passes”
🤷♂️

Yeah, Mayfield being 11th in Air Yards this season pretty much covers it. There are people who have a clue and then there are those that do not.
lolz @ "wheelhouse" and the idiot that is still trying to defend it.
and there are people who struggled with signing Baker at $100m for 3 years, but wouldn’t bat an eye at an aging QB, sporting a surgically repaired achilles, at $180m for 4 years.Mayfield played a huge share of long ball. Takes all kinds.
but wouldn’t bat an eye at an aging QB, sporting a surgically repaired achilles, at $180m for 4 years.
So, name them.
We know you’re awesome backing up your never ending string of straw men.
Your guy’s in Atlanta now, guess they won the QB derby?
Kirk Cousins, the guy no one ever seems to promote, somehow keeps getting bumped in this thread…weird.

Again, I’ll ask you, who are the posters?

I mean, this shouldn’t be difficult, even for you.
It’s the same folks defending Kirk Cousins…they just don’t like admitting it.
