Mayfield must be a polarizing guy. We have life long Buccaneer fans rooting against him and therefore the team. A sad state of affairs. One of our most entertaining and successful seasons sans Brady in a long time and they couldn't even enjoy it and wanted to nitpick every little thing. At 4-7, ok, we were still in it and 100% of us were on board with one more loss, we see what the back-up 2nd rounder of 3 years has in him. But when the Bucs were on their win streak, they still couldn't stand it. Even delusional at 9-8, they muttered what good is playoffs if we lose in first round, then Bucs dominated their game. Didn't hear much push back after that, albeit still some delusional ass clowns wanting to move on from Baker.
They can't wait to see Bucs struggle and say "i told you so" or in a few years, "i just brought a car from Kyle Trask and if he was still in the league, he'd be doing better than Baker right now"
We potentially got our answer at QB. Is he Mahomes? No. Is he Lamar, Dak Prescott? Ehh no but apparently more clutch in the playoffs. He showed that in the playoffs, we can compete with playoff teams and not bad for year 1 post Brady. We'd be foolish not to be in the Baker Camp at a reasonable rate - $25m-$33M.
anyone not wanting Baker back has their head up their ass. Look no further than the Bears, Commanders, Carolina, Atlanta, Raiders or Titans who started guys who have no future starting in the league. That is what many of you want with recommending a guy like Kyle Trask.
Baker ain't worth 40 million but to not want him back at a reasonable rate is just plain retarded behavior
Whole lot of dumb in this post. Who was rooting against the Bucs? I sure as hell wasn't. I've just been telling you that Baker's not the ultimate answer. The whole problem with your thinking and others like you, is that you just want a QB that can more often than not get us a winning season. Baker may be able to do that, but his track record is mixed. There are those of us, however, who have watched this team through a couple of Super Bowls and a couple of seasons where we were competitive for one but didn't make it, and know that Baker is not the QB that can win us a Super Bowl unless we have an elite defense backing him up. The whole point of the game is to be a Super Bowl contender and win it if you get in. Some of us don't want to settle for just making the playoffs and getting knocked out before the conference championship on a yearly basis. We want to be more like the Chiefs, 49ers, the Brady Patriots, etc...
And your opinion of Trask isn't worth the paper you use to wipe your ass.
hey everyone…watch this
and so instead of baker, who should the Bucs have as their starting QB this year?
I've just been telling you that Baker's not the ultimate answer.
Yeah … thats .. what … you’ve… been … doing
pfft give me a break
^^^^^ This makes ME13's consecutive 1,000 yard seasons even more remarkable considering that list of QBs.
Ed Zachary (EXACTLY). Another, hard to quantify, attribute of ME Awesomness- I was right. 2 2 many- Jameis Winston and Josh Freeman. At least the others, Mike Glennon had a HOF WR in Evan to help him out as he played Big Boy Football-unfortunatley it didn't pan out for him, FitzMagic Used ME14 and even He had some magical games while here, he's one of the best Backup QB's of this generation, and was able to at least entertain is a few games...and on one occasion when he wore that gold chain during his presser-cracked me up. Obviously TB12, and Ballerz "the Journeyman (like wtf haterz) Already did it this year. SO yeah- ME13 straight UP carried 4 of the six-including the 2 that never deserved him, and was rewarded for that By JL and The Glazers by pursuing AB, Kicking Crab Legs in the Puc, and Bringing in the Goat. YES ME!!!!3 is a HOF'r, and YES he will stay a BUC until he retires if he so ChUses 2. Hard to spend money when SO many trUly deserve a BIG PayDay. Thats the price of SUCcess Glazers/JL. The coach though, I still have, even stillll, Major QUalms regarding his DESIRE/PrIORITIES. Is it possible to win like that- I guess Bill B did while riding TB's Coattails. Anyhoo, tootaloo 4 now.
Ramon B 1981 GOOO BUCS!!!! GO ME!!!!3
Oh and holy moly this thread is On FIRE. It was like at 6 or 7 pages last night, and its at 11. SUmone mentioned PolarIzing somewhere. This is jUst another example of Inconsistency Ballerz faces. Is it his faUlt he's polarIzIng? Is he doIng it on pUrpose. Or is it his contextual circumstances that set the stage? Which side do U CHUSE???? I KNOW whIch SIde Im on. That is all.

hes polarizing because of his past and his inconsistent play this year
With a small but very vocal Gator Trask contingent here the RB is probably more polarized then maybe the total population of Bucs fans.
Winston was very polarizing too. Not coincidence.
Market has already determined Baker Mayfield's value. Traskbots and Baker-Haters won't ever believe he's worth it.
New England, Pittsburgh, Denver, and Atlanta all hope we go cheap on Baker. They know something some of you don't.
In the end, whatever they work out on Baker, is ok with me. It's a QB driven league and we have one all those WITHOUT one, want.
Hate on haters, big payday is coming whether you like it or not!
Lets GO!!
At this point, if the org lets him walk without making a HARD attempt at retaining him and instead goes to either a "journey-man" QB or "hope someone falls to us in the crapshoot draft- See Josh Freeman, Jameis Winston, Baker Mayfield" Josh was the only one that fell, Jameis and Ballerz where both First OVERall, the draft sure is a crapshoot, sometimes you Nail a First Overall Pick at QB- Dan Marino BGOAT (Back up GOAT), Payton Manning, and sometimes you get Winston and Ryan Leaf (oopsie he went the pick JUST after BGOAT Manning. Even Mannings Kid Brother, little brother, Has 2 more Rings than any of those 2 Poser First overall Picks. Then you can draft the All time Goat 199th 2000 draft and get LUCKY AF, and viola' a dynasty born from a single player, TOM FKN Brady, but with there's more. Tom COuldnt possibly be sooooo good that he carries the team by himself. Tru Dat, in his first 3-4 years, Bill B was still a great defensive minded DC, I mean HC. He HAD a strong team to support him and lay down a stable strong consistent foundation. Well Brady grew and got to the point where he basically carried them, Not ALL by himself tho, he had Rob and Hernandez to catch passes, a plethora (vernacular or 3 amigos-Ur choice) of scrappy slot WRs as well as a fair (but FADED) defense. He had Moss a couple years and maybe a good running back once or something. Well Bill B out grew his britches and convinced Kraft that HE was the GOAT and not Brady, he believed HE molded Brady, not the other way around. The Disrespect (see Ballerz in Cleveland-that disrespect was even worse, which makes including Ballerz in the OC search as a sign of respect...is worth more than paper). The Cheifs Reached on Mahomey, yeahhhh sure they did. Mahomey is the second or arguable first GOAT, and he's still in his prime. Yeah the draft and FA journeyman QB's are a CRAPSHOOT Indeed, anyone have any better options? Ive thought it out a bit, I don't see a better option. Letting this team fall apart because we couldn't get EVERYONE to make some compromises for the TEAM is My biggest fear this OofSeason. But The Glazers and JL are working, they hired Coen, and asked Baller his thoughts-respect. At this point, in this ERA of Football, he only way to a Dynasty (the Patriots or the Cheifs), is to acquire a QB, one that can go toe to toe with these ELITE QB's littered throughout the league (much better QBs prowl the AFC-thankfully for us-bad for them). Ballerz Beat Pittsburgh and went toe-2-tow with Mahomey didn't he. I think if we let that "potential" out the door without a FIGHT, that would be the top guys, the Glazerz and to a lesser extent JL failing us. The hard part is how to make Ballerz Happy and keep a strong team to support him and lay down a stable strong consistent foundation. But the Glazers and JL will FIND a WAY. I BELIEVE THAT THEY WILL MAKE THEIR BEST EFFORT. Any of THEM woUld have called THAT TIME OUT!!!! POPCORN AT THE READY, ENTERTAIN YOUR FANS BOYS!!!! Make us wait tho to unveil it tho, I like to wait in suspense until the last play...it ups the heart attack potential. Whatever U du make a PLAY-Go Big or Sit down (no offense), whatever u do....don't hold on to the time out and not even attempt the play, because U think yUo've dUn enoUgh.

Andy Reid Mahomes is the Current 42 of life (Hitch Hikers guide reference and I haven't even seen that movIe). Anyhoo, You know any QB that can consistently beat that Guy? I don't, in order to have a chance at stealing one we have to Bring in the Goat-but wait, we already did that. What do we DO NOW. U know any other QB's that Almost Stole a game from him like he did vs Pittsburgh, or DID in GB and vs the IGGLES (was the Texans game one of his good ones, cant remember) and played Game manager (SMART adjustment vs the Ca Kitties- he won the precision passer comp with a heady play on the 4 ball-and got screwed yet again), and SHOULD HAVE Vs the Lions. If ANY OF YOU KNOW a guys that gone toe 2 toe with those guys DESPITE BOUNCING around from Team to Team and Coach to Coach and System to system, and injury to injury, and team mates to team mates, and new HOME TO A NEW HOME. Yeah, he had his Best YEAR EVER as a BUC. It would be a mistake to let that walk away without GIVING IT YOUR BEST SHOT.
Just the 2c of the Board "crazy person." Its One'time'4'sUm'RUm-Its a Bucs Life. Yoo Hoo Yoo Hoo'a PIrates lIfe 4 me. JajaHaha-whatever LOLz U'use.

The Prose, simple and concise (gotta work on that mIself) and best of all...delightfUl. GJ.
Nice hit on Winston. So Polarizing UFOJOE got on His UFO and Flew off never to be seen again. He couldn't survive EATING the "Second Woman" plate of crow. Never seen a meltdown like that on any board in mI life. And unfortunately, he didn't have anyone here to call a friend. You know, their was a time when I almost joined him in his "boycott" of Winston, it was when he had the Uber incident. In retrospect, I wish I had joIned him sooner. If he still lurks (doubtful), Mea Culpa.
I have a question: besides Brady and Mayfield, how many other QBs has Mike Evans played with in his career?
Baker is his 6th.
Josh Freeman
Mike Glennon
Jameis Winston
Ryan Fitzmagic...err...Fitzpatrick
Tom Brady
Baker Mayfield
In that order. He hits 1000 yards every year no matter the QB or the offense.
Lol, FitzMagik. Love that guy. You know, he's another Qb that I always thought would've had a better career if he just could've stuck somewhere. Crazy that he has near-HOF numbers in spite of having to deal with a new team and a new system every other year.
Anyway, I was curious about the list of QBs because Evans went to bat for Baker; Evans knows the difference between quality QB play and . . . not. So his seal of approval should have some weight.
Another thing: Coen comes directly from the McVay tree. Look at what McVay did with Cooper Kupp over the years, and Pacua Nacua this season. Evans should be pretty excited to be the focus of Coen's offense getting 130+ targets. And a large percentage of those targets he'll be schemed wide open, instead of having to find ways to beat DBs on his own every time.
It'll be interesting to see if both Baker and Evans take hometown deals; if they do, I'd bet the hiring of Coen will have a lot to do with it.
I have a question: besides Brady and Mayfield, how many other QBs has Mike Evans played with in his career?
Pretty easy to find out, the bigger question to me is, how many of those QB's that threw him 1,000 yards for over a decade, ever won more than they lost?
P.S., there's a hint in there...[hint: it was in the decade part].
Yeah, Evans' career in some ways looks a lot like Deandre Hopkins'; both had a slew of mediocre QBs but managed to consistently have 1,000+ yard seasons anyway. Says a lot about their actual talent/abilities. Evans has experienced both poor and elite-level QB play; his endorsement of Baker is telling, because he knows the difference. And if he allows himself to be traded/enter FA, he probably goes to a team with a young/inexperienced QB where he'll have to start over in a new system, probably on a worse team. Staying in TB with a QB he already respects, in a system that will feature him, might be enough to convince him to take less than $25-$30 million/yr AAV he probably gets elsewhere.

Dont Forget Chris Godwin. If NOTHING ELSE, HES A BEAST blocking for his teammates. But IMHO, that would be a WASTE of the best-IMHO-Slot WR in the league. Listen, here's another crazy statement....Id Takw CHRIS over Cooper, every single day of the week and TWICE on the Sabbath. Anyhoo, Chris Is a great teammate as well. He Produces virtually EVERYTIME the Ball finds its way into his hands GOOD things happen...first down conversions, TD's, Crack Block to spring a run, and end around...The guy just has this Mean sort of Magic, but he's playing next to ME13 and supporting him. ME's got maybe 3 years high level play, Chris is in his Prime and will take his turn in the Limelight when ME passes him the torch.
So think of it this way. ME is your Chunk play guy, Your dagger to the Heart play guy. Chris is-WE NEED THIS PLAY OR WE DIE play guy. If Ballerz last Int had been targeted to Chris, it MAY have turned out differently...we'll never know. But Dont FORGET HIM. He just needs to go back to the slot and a few more touches per game to show himself off.
At a minimum Baker should get no less than Goff's deal, with about $33.5 million/yr AAV, iirc. That should be the bottom-of-the-barrel offer he should accept. hell, it should be the minimum offer; a lesser offer should be considered an insult, imo
Goff’s deal was for 4 years and also included $110M guaranteed.
That should be a HARD PASS from Licht.
Well, what I was referencing was the AAV of $33.5 million/yr, not so much the length of the deal, but I get where you're coming from. You guys don't want to give Baker a 4-yr deal with that much guaranteed, which I can understand. I was actually thinking a 3-year deal, with about $60 million guaranteed. So around $100,000,000/3 years, $55-$60 million guaranteed with an out for TB after 2 years.
I will say that I think Baker might take just $30 million, now that Coen is the OC and it would mean being able to re-sign Evans, Wirfs, etc. Baker cares more about winning and restoring his reputation/legacy than he is about the total dollars, imo. He's far more motivated by that massive chip on his shoulder than $$$.

Which Cooper? Amari?
Personally, I always thought Godwin was a pretty good WR; never thought of him as JAG. But I confess, I never really dug into Godwin's role, just glanced at his stats now and again. His numbers always suggested to me that he was a possession-type short-to-intermediate depth WR. Along the lines of say Adam Thielen.

My sentiment. That would help EVERYONE, fair market value-Its what TB did in Foxboro before they punted him to the curb. I remember Prescott marginalizing his greed by indicating the Gisele's income is the reason Brady was not asking for Gigantic Paydays. Ill tell you this DAK PRESCOTT WILL NEVER WIN A SB. He prioritizes his want of paper over the prize of BEING the Best. Come to think of it, has their EVER been a SB Winning QB who was THAT Greedy...my knowledge of Football outside the Bucs has been beaten to death already by my own hands, But I cant think of even one "Me-First" attitude QB's to ever win a SB. Anyone think of someone?

Think Bigger- Kupp. Kupp touches the ball more often is the only real difference- otherwise, they are EXTREMELY similar in every way-most importantly ATTITUDE!
Heres a bit of math.
Impossible or Impossibly improbable Possibly?
Does B+M+G+R+W+V+CK+LVD+AWJ3!=Foundation for a Dynasty? Dunno yet, this is a math problem that can't be calculated by arithmetic, only the passage of time can solve answer it.
