Get on it while you can , all you preseason haters
He played well against a really bad team. Good for him. Let's see how he does against the Eagles and Saints and then reevaluate him.
And you have never seen good QBs play bad against bad teams ?
@NextGenStats:
Baker Mayfield finished 14/17 for 223 yards and a TD under pressure, tied for the most passing yards under pressure in a game over the last four seasons (since 2020).
The Bears pressured Mayfield 17 times without recording a sack, tied for the 6th-most pressures without a sack since the start of last season.

I mean you got to be happy with baker thus far. Understand need to see complete season but he beat a 13 win team on the road and then beat a team he should have beat.
Do you remember the Bucs before Brady, when we’d lose games we should win with the likes of Winston?
yes eagles game will be tough but I think we got a shot with baker
the baker versus trask discussion is done for now so if you are a family member of trask just be stoked that he’s a millionaire making the NFL
Mayfield is now 47-of-68 this season (69.1 percent completion rate) for 490 yards and 3 touchdowns — with zero interceptions.
Sure is a major improvement vs wINsTon...so far, so good.
Turnovers are the story. We are controlling them... it keeps us competitive.
Could you imagine Winston here right now?
He'd already have 5-6 turnovers.
I'll admit I had my doubts about Baker because his career stats were on par with Winston's. I'll happily let anyone rub my nose in it for these first two games. Impressed with lack of TO's so far. I would like to see him reduce the batted balls at line of scrimmage, but other than that...
OL can help with batted balls by getting their hands in DL chest

Pressure is a subjective stat. There were some plays he had to move around that they're probably counting as pressure but really wasn't. But to his credit he is playing with great pocket mobility and awareness. Couple plays last year Brady would have just dirted.
Impressed with Baker so far in regards protecting the football and improvisation.
That being said, has left at least 4 TD’s off the scoreboard due to inaccurate passes and simply not pulling the trigger.
I’m confident that he’ll improve with that.
Canales has been outstanding so far, playing to Baker’s strengths and giving him easy and good looks (schematically, with receivers).
I swear we are the only fan base that talks about a QB from 2019.we have won a chip since he left and still butt hurt over him.
