If Licht needs to step-in to make that happen, so be it.
Fair point and the divergence of interests is always an issue with struggling teams BUT will that actually happen and, if so, WHEN? I'd love to see what Trask can do BUT this season is INTENTIONALLY a wash for the team*, but never for a HC, and there is still a playoff hope.
Texans and Titans loom ...
What if Saints beat the Falcons in a couple weeks?
* The good news for the Bucs is that general manager Jason Licht and assistant G.M. Mike Greenberg have decided to swallow their salary cap medicine this year and get well for next year. Saddled with $75 million in dead cap money this season, including $35 million due to Tom Brady, the Bucs were cap-strapped in free agency this year and had to do a lot of bargain shopping, which restricted Licht’s ability to add more talent.
In a surprising turn of events, Baker Mayfield turns out to be Baker Mayfield. He's a back-up NFL QB or starter on a bottom-10 team.
It's time for the organization to find out if Trask is the same, better, or worse. If Licht needs to step-in to make that happen, so be it. Bowles can't be trusted to make these decisions.
but can’t they see what they have in him with 4,5 games remaining
going to trask now and seeing the inevitable that he sucks and ain’t the guy and then going back to baker is just dysfunctional
At 3-4 in this division, they still have hope so you play the obvious better QB in mayfield
I’m not against giving trask a shot when we are out of it. We owe it to the vets to continue to start baker for atleast the next month

You've made your opinion well known, but can you at least admit there is a possibility that Trask performs better than Mayfield? However tiny you believe that possibility to be, it still exists.
And if Trask is worse, the organization will get a better draft pick.
We owe it to the vets to continue to start baker for at least the next month
I'm guessing Evans, at least, would welcome the change.

I doubt that, but Trask only takes over if Bowles wants that, for the reasons that Badabing laid out
Has nothing to do with Trask and everything to do with HC, veterans etc.
Bowles might be ready for the change though. Who knows?

Confirmation is always welcomed.
love this argument. Like a confirmation would mean we have Mike Evans word on it and given what a high class person he is, how does one confirm. Simple speculation as one could never confirm. Is there any confirmation that evans liked Brady more than Winston? Send the link please.
If it was possible that trask would give the team a better chance to win, he would have been in there already given draft position, contract status, etc.
Bucs have a winnable game against the Texans coming up. They win that, and playoffs are well within reach
they lose that, the lockerroom is lost (sorry no confirmation link) as that would be 4 losses in a row with two very winnable games versus Atl and hou
if we lose that game and assuming we don’t break 20 in the loss, I’d suggest there will be some pressure to see what trask can do but it will be giving up on season. If they are contending for playoffs, I don’t see them making the move. That being said, a loss to the Texans and you may only win 2-3 more games anyway so who cares

It was confirmation in that the good counselor is almost never right, so if his dumbass "doubts" it - that in itself is confirmation.
In short, it was sarcasm.

yeah but...let's see what are two things Evans likely cares about
1. Winning
2. Keeping 1,000 yard streak alive
1. He likely realizes that this team has a limitation on how far they can go. Their ceiling to just about anyone would be a division title and first round playoff exit. We have showed we don't belong on the same field as Detroit or Philadelphia; likely would see similar results with Seahawks, Dallas, and 49ers so where does that leave us.....similar to 2022. So a championship isn't happening with this team even if Tom Brady himself came back to play.
2. The 1,000 yard streak is definitely something he would want to keep alive. He currently has 507 yards averaging 72.4 yards per game.
He averaged 62.9, 64.7 and 74.9 in the 3 Brady years and his career average is 75.9 so let's see if i am Evans - you are averaging pretty much what you did under Brady and your entire career. Is the Risk of an unproven Trask going to catapult those numbers or potentially tank them? I mean shit, the only way he would consider it if you had a #1 overall highly touted rookie coming off the bench and even then hed probably prefer the guy that has had years experience in the NFL.
again all speculation but how do you argue this point from a veteran WR perspective? with Kyle Trask on the bench no less. Let's not act like Caleb Williams pre October performance is sitting on the bench.

The veteran WR's perspective may be that he's tired of being missed when he is (and others are) open, whether that is because the QB didn't/couldn't see him, the QB's pass is batted at the LOS, or the QB made a poor throw.
Let's not act like Caleb Williams pre October performance is sitting on the bench.
Since nobody is acting like that, we agree. Neither of us knows how Trask will perform with the starting offense. I'm willing to say that, whereas you seem to know exactly what will happen with Trask at QB. You also were pretty certain how Julio Jones was going to effect the offense last season. It didn't quite go as planned, did it?
I'm guessing Evans, at least, would welcome the change.

Lol. Ironically, its called an argument from ignorance. . . .
"Appeal to a Lack of Evidence (Argumentum Ad Ignorantium, literally "Argument from Ignorance"): Appealing to a lack of information to prove a point, or arguing that, since the opposition cannot disprove a claim, the opposite stance must be true"

The irony of this supersedes the irony of the "argument" . . .

Bowles:
"“Baker’s doing fine,” Bowles said, adding the offense as a whole is struggling, not one specific player. “Obviously he gets all the credit when we win and gets most of the blame when we lose.
“Baker is doing fine. He’s captaining the ship very well. He had no turnovers the last game. We just have to get in synch there.”
In the words of the great poet, Mike Tyson . . . "Ironical."
Trask only takes over if Bowles wants that, for the reasons that Badabing laid out
Orange and blue Gator homer goes wut wut?
But not until after he tells others they are "dumb"
@bakermayfield becomes the first visiting quarterback EVER with a perfect passer rating (158.3) at Lambeau Field.
PR review of Packer game. Tight window pass to Godwin"
"The concepts were awesome, but Baker was on one. Hitting the seam against C2 between the pole-runner and the underneath the deep safety. Neat-o."
NFC offensive player of the week goes to your Tampa Bay Buccaneers starting quarterback….
let’s hear it! Three cheers for Baker Mayfield.
hip hip…….
