But wait….theres more. Baker strikes me as a team first kinda guy, may not be his style to break a team financially, Brady was like that as well for the vast majority of his career, if not all of it. You know who I have a feeling would be willing to stay with the club at a discount??? A MLB with a huge chip on his shoulder. He played great tonight, a gritty disciplined game, little recognition, but we played for his team and the giggles couldn’t do a single meaningful thing, not one….who gaf about a worthless TD. Look, some of you need to stop slathering up on Baker's nuts. Dude's married guys. He had 9 games, again NINE, where he was below average in play by QBR. He had 4 games where he was average. He struggled a lot this year and a lot of his stats were garbage time. He had 2 elite games during the season. Even last night his QBR was in the slightly below average range, but that had more to do with a lot of drops. Overall, though, he had one helluva game last night. If he could play like that consistently, nobody, including me, would be calling for a change. I'm hoping, as are the rest of us, that he keeps it going through the playoffs. If he does, we have a legit shot. It was a great game. Let's not sully it with stupid takes.
Oh, and Ramonb, as far as I know, you're new here. Some of us have been here a long time (me since the Buccaneer Magazine days). Baker had a great game but this game was about two things
1. a swarming Bucs defense
2. a lost Philadelphia locker room, coach has got to go
i liked that the Bucs were moving the ball but if you look at bakers 3 touchdown passes, to me it was more about the eagles missed tackling then dimes being thrown (albeit most drops in playoff history I believe.)
I agree that if the offense plays like that with defense remaining strong, we have a good chance to beat the lions. If anything maybe playing against a lost locker room will give them confidence and they can keep it going
but as fans we should have nothing negative to say about Bowles baker Canales you name it. A successful season in my books

i think Mayfield likely gets a 2 year, $55M deal. that's probably best for the team.

Both Mayfield and Bowles can be transitional guys as we build out the deficiencies that DH identifies.
and maybe there is a developmental QB in there too, hopefully Trask but of not the next Trask
