If Baker can continue to throw across the middle he deserves to get extended and we can save the draft capital for the team around him. I primarily want a stud center(vanpren), guys who can rush the passer and corners, day 3 picks on a mentally tough receiver maybe a ss that can lay the boom in FA, Im ok with rolling with Britt LVD Russell Denis next year
yUM A Center and LG PEASE. Anyone know who are good prospects. I had felt that our secondary, especially CB had been a weakspot for Years. CD!!! is a nice CB but he allows too many short medium passes keeping the D on the field. Dean, is hot or cold. Last night BOTH were on FIRE. Especially tackling and defending passes. I saw BOTH CD!!! and Dean defend passes that should have been caught by the WR and I saw BOTH tackle WELL. If they can keep that up,...what else is there? Maybe a Big FB, Maybe a DUAL TE...maybes. Lets see how Otton and Ko develop, they are still babies by NFL standards. Uhm Rob G is still in pretty good shape, if the Bucs go deep in the playoffs, who knows what his calendar looks like for next year. LS????, ST guys look solid AF. Oline...Interior, I keep going back to our main flaw. C probably then LG.
Look, some of you need to stop slathering up on Baker's nuts. Dude's married guys. He had 9 games, again NINE, where he was below average in play by QBR. He had 4 games where he was average. He struggled a lot this year and a lot of his stats were garbage time. He had 2 elite games during the season. Even last night his QBR was in the slightly below average range, but that had more to do with a lot of drops. Overall, though, he had one helluva game last night. If he could play like that consistently, nobody, including me, would be calling for a change. I'm hoping, as are the rest of us, that he keeps it going through the playoffs. If he does, we have a legit shot. It was a great game. Let's not sully it with stupid takes.
Oh, and Ramonb, as far as I know, you're new here. Some of us have been here a long time (me since the Buccaneer Magazine days). Please stop telling people what they can post, including in the game day thread. If we can't post or thoughts, what the hell's the forum for. Thank you, and have a nice day KAREN
Oh, you misunderstand. Please please please share your thoughts, just try and be and be civil about it, does everything require spinning down into shyt, Im sorry If I prefer my way. Im sorry if thats too much for you... Uhm...Thank you, and have a nice day!!!!
Ramon B 1981 GOOO BUCS!!!!
Where did the "KAREN" come from? That wasn't in my comment. I think everyone is going to have takes that can come off crass. Just accept that it will be there. Call it out. Some of the takes here just irritate me to no end and I've called them out at times, but it is what it is. Forums have always been the wild west of the internet.
Prioritize Edge, G, and C in the upcoming draft and FA.
If Baker reverts back to old Baker, we'd still be building and supplementing a solid roster for the next guy.
This. Is. Good.
agreed.
Both Mayfield and Bowles can be transitional guys as we build out the deficiencies that DH identifies.
and maybe there is a developmental QB in there too, hopefully Trask but of not the next Trask
I can agree with this as long as Baker can become more consistent. I don't expect perfect play from the QB position, and even Brady had bad games in his prime. But, instead of 9 games below average, with 5 in the awful range, keep the below average games to around 3-5, and have a few more above average games and that's enough to consistently win in this league. Can he do it? I don't know. I still have my doubts as he hasn't really strung together more than 2 really good games. But if he manages to put together another 2 or 3 great games together, them he can be the guy, at least for a while. We'll see. I'm still rooting for us to go the distance. And I'd be perfectly happy if Baker is driving the buss all the way there.
I don't think he meant any ill will too it its just were all different ages that fell in love with a game when we were kids, theres probably 3 different generations on this board and some humor/tones get taken out of context, i still feel like a young 30 year old, thats been reading this board since 10
instead of 9 games below average, with 5 in the awful range
Which games were below average and which of those were awful?
But, instead of 9 games below average, with 5 in the awful range,
I think this is a wee bit of an exaggeration.
Even by PFF grading, he had 7 games where he graded below average in passing and 1 game where it was graded awful/poor.

I Added that to complete your thought!!! You implied it with your tone, that is all.
One thing that's been said but I'll reiterate. Dude is clutch. Even when he struggles he does make great plays, especially with his feet, on crucial downs.

you must mean the downs where he runs because he doesn’t see the 7 receivers running open for walk-in TDs!
I kid…
Here is the QB who can’t read defenses telling Godwin to be ready on the blitz TD

No one said he couldnt read defenses lol, The biggest difference between these big games and bad games is his ability to throw over the middle and trust himself, he recognized cover 0 and threw it up to Godwin to win the 1on1. He let it rip through the middle of the field with accuracy and timing and that is what this offense needed. Big ups to otton for toasting whoever was on him which was the chain mover. We need to do the same to Anzalone
Baker played better because Canales called the game better...
And the eagles defense is flat footed and had mailed it in

yes the eagles quit on their coach. Those 3 touchdowns were more about atrocious defense than baker
that being said, the offense performed championship caliber. We need to limit the drops. My only beef with baker in this game was him looking right at Durham on 3rd and 1, not throwing to him for the easy first and getting sacked taking us out of field goal range at 16-9.
last 3 QBs in our playoff victories - Baker, Brady and Brad Johnson. ironically, not including SB appearances, they all came against the Eagles.
as just about everyone across the league will admit, Baker had a good year and will make himself some money this offseason
for any Buc fan still upset with him, they are either comparing him to Tom Brady, holding him to a top 4 QB standard (mahomes, Allen, burrow, Jackson), or some other foolish reason.
yes it would be great to get another Tom Brady or Mahomes, but they don’t come around often. Stroud looks pretty good but let’s see how he looks next year with more video on him. How many times has a guy had one good year (wentz, hurts) and turned to mediocre subsequently
bucs overachieved this year and I’m excited to see what Detroit brings. I’m not as confident I was with eagles but I’m not necessarily negative either

that Durham play was bad and hard to understand
