If the Bucs want to sell more season tickets, they need to fix this team. Bowles has done very little to instill confidence. He's responsible for the defense, sure they got a shutout today, but Jacksonville shut them out last week as well, not much of an accomplishment. As the Browns fans have told us, Mayfield will give you fantastic games, and games that will break your heart. Canales is so a work in progress, and IMHO he hasn't made a lot of progress. I'm a big fan, have the pirate ship tattooed on my right calf, but I don't want another season of this same shit. I think they need to fire Bowles and Canales, and not sign Mayfield. But of course they won't. IABL. sigh

and who are you picks at head coach and qb instead?
I personally cannot WAIT to do all of this all over again with Baker and Bowles! Watching wide open receivers get overthrown, or not thrown to at all! BUT he might scramble for a TOUGH first down! Remember that stiff arm!? Oh man! Oh my gosh!
Maybe, if we’re lucky, he’ll take the guys out for beers then we’ll really win!
The absolute best part will be when Mayfield has 3 really good games surrounded by really mid to poor QB play!
Brady > Mayfield how could we be so lucky!?
Oh yeah, and get this, we still have TRASK!! How blessed are we!? He’s literally done fuck all, but we love him and his unquestioned starting QB talents. It’s almost like having Josh Allen as a Backup! One day, he’ll get his chance and show the world! Remember that incomplete attempted TD throw when Baker got hurt a play??? Wow what a throw, it was almost complete. Dude is a fucking stud.
I’m looking forward to going back and watching the all 22. I’m thrilled we got the win even if the team looked largely unmotivated in the process.
LOL
If the Bucs win next week vs the Iggles Mayfield will have twice as many playoff victories as Lamar Jackson and Deshaun Watson

don’t worry. I’m sure there will be some “Buc fans” upset about it

” he could’ve hit 16 more TDs with all the guys running open everywhere!”

The next time I read an original take from one of them will be the first. They all sound like the Ohio State fans on Browns forums who hate him for his flag plant... me, I hate OSU and loved it
I've been a Browns fan since 1957 and know the team and him better than anyone here. Took a 1-31 team, don't whine to ME about losing streaks, beat the Yinzers OTR in the playoffs and went 12-6 overall
Prior to his injury in 2019 the Browns were on and 11-5 run and if not for a Higgins fumble would have beaten KC, who won with a backup and exposed Stefanski
Also, if not for DC Joe Woods the Browns would have won a dozen more games... remember the night he brought the Browns back against the Rats then lost it when the D let Lamarr throw a 4th down TD pass after shitting his pants on national TV? Typical Browns who one season in a 7 game stretch were outscored 90 - 3 in the last 2 minutes
Today was the biggest in his career. His entire season came down to winning this game in the eyes of everyone. The pressure of resurrection, beating a team that cast him off, to his benefit, a division opponent with a strong D all while playing injured and if not for him the Bucs would have had maybe 5 wins
If not for him you'd have no chance at resigning Evans who isn't going to play for a rebuilding team or another new QB
Bucs #1 pick should be the Edge/LB from UCLA and a receiver who can catch... Palmer flat out sucks...esp as a starter

If it were my job to fill these positions, I'd have a long list of potential candidates, but I sure wouldn't share it with a Bucs fan on PR.
The point of my post is that if the Bucs remain status quo, based on this season's performance I have no confidence things will be different next season. Just my $0.02.
Took a 1-31 team,
You keep saying this, over and over and over.
What the hell are you rambling about?
Obviously impossible to diagnose Mayfield without being in his head
Nah, just look at his career stats. He is what he is, and that's consistently inconsistent. He'll give you hope one week and break your heart the next two weeks...

good point
I only meant the "why" as in why is he so inconsistent? But I agree that is who he is
I think yesterday probably has more to do with Canales than an injured Mayfield, but who knows? I know he seems to throw better when he has less time to think about things

The Browns were 1-31 the two seasons prior to him being drafted, Dumas'
Then he set a rookie TD record in 13 games
